Clandestino Beach

Both my husband and I were very impressed with this beautiful resort. The staff and the property were more than we expected. We especially loved our room and were amazed at how clean and lush the whole property is kept. The employees were very conscientious of keeping the resort looking it’s best at all times and quickly learned what we liked to eat and drink. We were definitely catered to and that made our stay extra special.

Fabulously styled resort with an exclusive feel. The service was outstanding and food delicious at a reasonable price. We loved having the vast strip of beach to watch to sunset. A lovely relaxing few days would stay again without hesitation.

Clandestino was fantastic. Beautiful place, beach and great staff. I highly recommend it.

Nice mgr. nice beach ,pool area good food at night very good.resort a little dated,could use some up dates but overall not bad.worst road out to resort very rough.

Very quiet and relaxing place, it’s like living in your own beach-front villa. Super friendly staff and excellent service all around. Although it only has one restaurant, the menu is quite extensive and we had enjoyed it a lot. The property is sustainably built and meticulously/naturally decorated. The pool is very nice and clean although it got a little busy around the pool at times, overall we had no problem throughout our stay. This is a small property, only 12 rooms. Nice landscaping but nowhere to walk to other than the beach. The nearest town/store is 10-15min drive by car, the nearest touristy town is about a 40min drive. You need a car if visiting this place and expect to explore outside the hotel. The beach is not protected and generally has high levels of surf, not useful for small kids, although the pool is pretty good. The place is quite remote and well guarded, no security concerns.

Our stay at the Clandestino Beach Resort was fantastic! I highly recommend. You do have to drive down a dirt road for about 5km but it’s really no big deal, and totally worth it. The rooms look like bungalows from the outside. Great front patio with sheer net sheets for privacy with a hanging swinging chair, as well as couch/lounge with coffee table. Our room was clean and the air conditioner worked fantastic. The bathroom was very cool. There was plenty of hot water and the water pressure was great. Everything from to start to finish was perfect. The reception was friendly and welcoming upon arrival. The service provided by the employees was 5 stars! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The pool and landscaping is very well taken care of. There are loungers and umbrellas both at pool and beach. As well as hammocks and swings. There are Iguanas walking around the grounds! Cool beach vibe. This is the place to escape the tourist crowds and relax and enjoys drinks and eat. The town of Parrita is a very short drive down the dirt road. Quepos is a little further but still a short drive. We found out the Nauyaca Waterfall was within an hour drive and spent a morning at the waterfall then stopped in Quepos for dinner and still made it back to the resort for happy hour and the sunset. Do not miss the sunset! It’s beautiful!

We had a perfect trip to Clandestino, we had read some slightly negative reviews online and were a little worried before arriving but these must have been from travellers with crazy expectations. The staff are amazing, so lovely and helpful and the owner was great, especially when our little boy got sick helping with speaking to doctors for us. The location is beautiful, the beach is amazing, our hut that sat right on the pool was perfect for when our little boy needed a nap so we could still be close to the pool. We will definitely return one day, only negative was the massive spiders that kept visiting us in the toilet that I had to remove but then it’s costa rica and the setting is quite wild so to be expected.

Old resort on the middle of nowhere.No entertainment at all. Must drive 10 km on dusty, bumpy, gravel ( no asphalt) from the main road. Water in the ocean is away, on the beach, should walk very far to find water, and possibly swim- NOT GOOD at all. Swimming pool is good, service is good, cleanness is good. Room is old and smelly, dark - between trees.
