Friendly, helpful. Historic building, great area, good restaurant too

This hotel was superb. Perfect location, visually very beautiful, the room was spacious enough for 2, the service was impeccable and the food at the restaurant was simply delicious. Wouldn't hesitate to book again or recommend to my family and friends.

Very cool historical hotel to stay at. The rooms are very clean, the attached restuarant was excellent, and service was great. They even helped me arrange a private driver that drove me to Hanging Temples, the Yungang grottoes, and then to Beijing...only wish I had more time to stay in this amazing little town.

Really wonderful hotel with such delicious restaurant!! Food is a little expensive but pretty worth it. And the staff was so helpful to me. They made it so worth it!! I highly highly recommend!!!!

It is a nice hotel but don't expect luxury. They need to find a way to remove the birds from the top, during the night the noises could be annoying

We found a peaceful, charming and lovely environment with friendly, warm and helpful staff (somewhat of a rarity in service staff on our travels in China). It is a historical property so it is definitely not very accessible for people with mobility issues (uneven old stones in the courtyards and nearly foot tall thresholds to step over in some areas). We greatly enjoyed our stay.

We loved staying in this courtyard hotel in Pingyao. It is well run and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The English type breakfast food is a bit primitive but good enough. The Chinese food is excellent and the coffee is delicious.

We stayed four nights, had pleasant meal and breakfast in the hotel, and received great help from the staff at all times, and in particular when organizing trip out of Dunhuang. the hotel offers a service of rentals of cars with a driver, which is very convenient and not expensive.
