Pingyao Yide Hotel

Staying at the Yide courtyard hotel was like experiencing China a 100 ( or maybe even 600) years ago during the Ming Dynasty. Things are so authentic and rustic it gives you a true flavor of yesteryear. The room was great and the staff was incredibly attentive. The food in the restaurant was excellent and was reasonably priced. This was so much better than the standard boring hotel room that you would normally stay out. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wanted to truly enjoy hanging out.

This place far exceeded my expectations. The staff were wonderful and the hotel itself is a wonderful taste of the ancient city. The hostel restaurant is the pick of places to eat in the whole of Pingyao, with a delicious menu for breakfast, lunch & dinner. You won't want to eat anywhere else.

I stayed at the hotel between 23 - 25 Nov 2013. The staff has walked all the way out through the alley to welcome us when we arrived. The quality of the service is definitely better than 5 star hotel. The staff checked us in just few minutes and we got a nice room. The condition of the room isn't fantastic but since we wanted to experience the antique style of Inn, it is more than just comfort. The room face a big courtyard and the hotel is conveniently located just 2 minutes walk from the busy West Street!

Had a wonderful stay at the Yide Hotel. The rooms were quaint, warm and welcoming, and the staff were helpful, friendly and courteous and spoke English! We stayed for two nights. I was upgraded from a single to a double room and my parents and their friends were given two adjoining rooms with a nice common area. The beds were very firm but I slept wonderfully for the two nights. The hotel is well located and we were given great directions for where to go by the hotel staff.

Nice Hotel and pleasant stay. Staff are very friendly and the food was fantastic. Have had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant daily.The hotels driver is also a greag asset and he showed me arround out of town and he was very dedicated.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff is very good. Good english skills Food at hotel was good to very good. Traditional bed which I enjoyed. Western toilet. Showerhead and sink separated from toilet by shower curtain. Bathroom very clean I had them arrange car and driver from/to taiyuan airport, I think for 800 RMB. Very good

Very unique Chinese ancient city . A must.I would recomend this hotel as very well organized , plenty of good taste , good attitude from the manager,good restaurant , you feel in the real old China.The bathroom too small for occidental standards but overall a very good experience.

I stayed 2 nights. The staff is helpful and understand and speak English. The hotel retains the character of the courtyard style including the inside of the rooms, which have the traditional kang beds. It is 2-3 blocks from the busy streets with all the shopping/dining/sites that attract tourists which makes it quiet. Nice after a long day of walking around. Room was small and could be too small for a longer stay. I enjoyed it.

This hotel was simply perfect, beautiful inside and outside. Really comfy room, silent at night but only a few mins walk from the middle if town. Also, Julie who worked on the reception desk was really lovely and helped us book last minute train tickets and was always happy to give help and advice. Had a perfect Pingyao experience as a result!

This hotel lived up to its billing. It was an ancient courtyard hotel located in a quiet part of the city. The food was great, even if you don't stay there, I recommend you eat there. In the town all the menus are the same. Everything was above my expectations.
