Pingyao Yide Hotel

Small hotel in the middle of a fortified city. Staff is awesome. Food is very very good.

It is a traditional courtyard house, with original stone bed - and it was comfortable, the staff was kind and helpful, I recommend it to everybody,

My daughter and I had a great stay at the Yide Hotel. We were met at the train station and ferried quickly to the hotel. On arrival we were ushered to breakfast, in traditional Chinese style and later taken to our room. We were lucky enough to be ungraded to a very large room at no extra cost as it was low season and so very few tourists were in town.We spent a lovely three days in Pingyao despite the temperature being in the minus temperature range for the whole time. Yide Hotel is highly recommended. The staff are very attentive and respectful. Beware about having laundry done there however it is very expensive as they charge per item, even socks, underwear etc. All the same price as larger items.

This hotel is very special. We had visited Yuci and the Qiao family Courtyard on our way to Pingyiao and arriving at the hotel in the evening was quite magical. It was as if we were staying and really experiencing life in a traditional Chinese family house. The staff was attentive, discreet, friendly and informative. The food at the restaurant was very good indeed.

The hotel is very scenic--more than we hoped for--clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was exceptional (Anna, the proprietor, was kind and helpful and Julie, the office manager, took every opportunity to make our stay more pleasant)--often going out of their way to help us. Food was excellent, too. Serving staff spoke limited English but were most anxious to please. We highly recommend the Yide Hotel.

Nice courtyard hotel. The "VIP" room basically has room for two families (it is two separate rooms + one shared "common area", and the Exec. Double are located right next to it. In addition the restaurant (very nice) is located in the same small courtyard => the whole experience was very nice. The restaurant served great (if a bit pricy) breakfast and great dinner. Also helped with booking a tour for 9 people with 10 hour notice, and airport transfer at reasonable prices. All in all a great stay.
