Beautiful location, most helpful staff I've ever encountered, Gulf Stream restaurant is just that bit too expensive, €36 for a steak! but bar food and breakfast are excellent. Third visit, will definitely return.
The hotel and settings were wonderful,the staff were so polite and attentive.
This hotel was excellent from our arrival to departure. We received an Irish Mist on arrival which was complimentary, a nice touch, our bedroom over looked the beech and was very comfortable. The food was fabulous in the bar as was breakfast each morning. All staff met you with a smile, everyone was pleasant and very helpful.
Our overall experience was good but disappointing. The location of the hotel is the key selling point - it is truly breath-taking. Open views and direct access to miles of sandy beaches - the location is truly fabulous. We were unlucky with the weather and so the hotel was full of families who were staying in the adjoining apartments. From the website and details we read we had no idea that there were so many apartments. The bar area served food (which was excellent) but we found it quite small and with several high chairs and tables pushed together with families it was noisy and felt cramped. Not the dream we had of the of the magical hotel break we had been waiting for. The pool again was full with children and families in general - we didn't even attempt to use it during our stay. We felt the main restaurant lacked the ambiance of fine dining. The décor is modern, light and airy with lots of natural wood etc - more in keeping for its use for the breakfast service. We were extremely disappointed that there wasn't any entertainment at all - I know we stayed on a Monday and Tuesday but it was July - high season - and there was nothing happening in the hotel at all. There was a beautiful grand piano in the residents bar but again no one to play. Having reflected on our stay I would grade the hotel 3-4 star with the target market being families.
