Hotel Varuna

Great place. Rooms look just like the photos. The surrounding area is safe with plenty to find to eat or drink.

We stayed there as we participated to a mountain bike race in Manizales. We don't speak Spanish at all and all along the staff has been very helpful and understanding. They accommodated us and provided all we needed, even if our demands were unusual. They helped us cleaning our muddy bikes and provided all the necessary to do our washing in the room and hang everything. One of the most helpful staff we ever had! The hotel itself is comfortable, the rooms are spacious and clean. The only negative thing was the shower, where hot water is kind of random. The breakfast is not the best ever, but there is enough to eat. The hotel is well situated, with a lot of restaurants close by. We are happy about our stay.

Four friends had 2 nights at The Veruna Hotel as part of a 4 week trip to Colombia. For some reason, I do not know why, both couples were upgraded to Penthouse rooms. Absolutely superb rooms, large, clean, fantastic showers & extremely comfortable. We so needed a good nights sleep and The Veruna really refreshed us. Staff were courteous and polite. We missed breakfast as we left too early on both days, but the one evening meal here was very disappointing. Please don’t try too hard to offer European food, it simply doesn’t work. Stick to menu items that are traditional for Colombia, that’s what travellers like us have come for. Yes, we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend The Veruna.

Great spot near El Cable, so great location in town. There was an issue with wifi service in the initial room I was in, but the staff were very responsive, and moved me into a nicer room, after which it was great. I'd stay here again for sure. Maybe not in Room 308 if you need good wifi, but otherwise, all very good.

The Varuna has excellent courteous staff, very spacious and clean rooms with everything you will need for your stay in Manizales. It’s close to shopping and dining. Because Manizales is a long city, you will need to taxi over to see the Catedral and other sites of interest but it is in a safe oart of town near the universities. Breakfast is very well served and offers anything you might want in a breakfast.

Superb location to explore the warm and lovely city of Manizales. Varuna Hotel is modern, sleek, clean and comfortable. Our room was well appointed with a comfortable seating area. Staff provided accommodating service, and we enjoyed the pleasant breakfast. We would definitely stay again.

Great location, excellent value includes breakfast! The room and bathroom have ample space! The bed is comfy, wireless internet is unlimited! Depending on the room, some are quiet than others!

I have to hundreds of hotels.. this hotel is by far the worst hotel I have ever been at.. It felt like this hotel is a place for prostitution.. I have a reservation for two... My girlfriend came and stayed for 40 minutes. Right after she left, the lady at the reception called me and asked me to pay for the extra person... I was flabbergasted... She did not take the time to review my reservations.. very bad... Also be careful for the extra charges... the other person, I think he is the manager, is one of the least polite person you will ever meet.. he yells, he screams and he will make you pay what he wants... (I will take up the extra charges with my Credit Card) The breakfast is the lousiest breakfast I have ever had.. bad over all in all categories. Electricity shuts off every 5 minutes.. Noise and drunk people are all around the hotel Run away do not walk from this hotel..

Really enjoyed my stay at the hotel for Runa. The staff was amazing, the rooms were modern, clean, and spacious. The lobby is a bit simple and small but there's a big dining room. It's in a great central location as well. I'll be staying there again!

The hotel was great - good service and nice breakfast. The area is near the university and has a great vibe. Easy to get to downtown. The wifi in the room was very spotty.
