"Serenity Found Here"

8.0

If you are looking for a place to unplug and spend time in reflection, this is your place. Perfect for the person who loves the outdoors. The food is great and there is a good variety. If you like to read in the evening, bring a reading light for your book. Don't bring all of your electronic devices...Take this time to hear the waves and appreciate the slower pace and the silence.

"Wonderful Hotel"

10.0

We just finished our stay here for four nights to start our honeymoon in Nicaragua. I am not sure where the negative reviews came from on here. We had nothing but great experiences throughout our four nights and five days at Aqua. It was an absolutely wonderful way to start our honeymoon. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We were greeted at the airport by our driver Yustin, from Aqua who was there as soon as we got our luggage and was so friendly and helpful on the 2.5 hour drive to the resort. The moment we arrived at Aqua we were greeted by Jenny at reception who had delicious juice and cold towels for us. We then were taken to our private and beautiful casita- Kinkajou LS. We highly recommend this luxury suite. It had a private entrance and a stunning private, plunge pool. If you can request it, get Kinkajou! They also brought us a bottle of wine since it was our honeymoon The food at the restaurant, Onda was simple and great! The servers are attentive and friendly at the restaurant. The food came out quickly. We got the chance to talk to Laura who is the restaurant manager and doing a great job! The private beach is perfect for lounging, relaxing, and going for a swim. Haibon was super friendly and helpful in getting us beach chairs and taking out kayaks and paddle boards. When we sadly had to check out, checkout is a breeze. Tips for the restaurant are included in the final bill and it is itemized for you to clearly see. On each bill for the meals at the resta

"Incredible view, relaxing, and the BEST staff."

10.0

My boyfriend and I came to Nicaragua to really escape our day to day craziness. Aqua was the perfect spot! The staff is clearly well trained in how to be engaging with guests when it's appropriate, and when to give guests their privacy. I can't say enough nice things about the staff. We were both really, really impressed. Most of the staff were so young! But so, so kind, friendly and professional. Fidel, Jenny, Hamilton, Jabrin, Jon Carlos and I know there are so many names I'm not remembering! They helped make our experience so enjoyable!!!

"Treehouse review"

8.0

Unusual setting with great views. Unique concept with well positioned rooms for privacy. A great place for privacy and reflection. The room was laid out for maximum view but not for overall functionality. The main issue, downside of location in trees, was the abundance of small (harmless) bugs in room. Mattress and bedding could have been higher quality. Also, difficult to regulate room temp. Overall, it was a very romantic, unusual, laid back, and worth the long trek from Managua.

"Lovely tree house resort "

8.0

Had a great time a Aqua Wellness resort. We stayed in a standard tree house, near the top of the resort. The rooms are all individual tree houses on a small hill, so expect to take stairs everywhere. There were 175 steps from the beach to our room! The environment is wonderful. Expect monkeys and birds to wake you up around 6am every morning. Yoga is included in your room price, 2x daily on a deck overlooking the beach. The beach is gorgeous and the water is clear and warm. There are kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and snorkeling gear you can borrow for free. The resort is about a 25 minute walk to Playa Gigante, a small town that has a few restuarants. We went for dinner a few nights. The food at the resort is fairly expensive (standard american prices) and the alcohol is also expensive. Food at Playa Gigante was much cheaper, and the local fare is so much better than Aqua's food. Aqua is "fancy" food but the logistics of the Nicaragua don't allow for "fancy" ingredients, so it falls flat.

"Beautiful property but a few areas for improvement"

8.0

Recently returned from a very relaxing stay at Aqua. The property is truly stunning, and even though its not completely an eco-resort, they make a lot of accommodations to minimize the impact on the local environment. However, as more of a mid-range traveler who stayed in a few lower-key places around Nicaragua prior to going to Aqua, I was a bit shocked by the prices of food and activities the resort was charging. When other reviewers say "American" prices, be prepared for upscale American prices ($8 cocktails, $20+ dinner entrees). They have to make money somehow, but if you're looking to save a few dollars, consider taking the 15 minute walk over to Playa Gigante for a few alternatives. After dark (sunset is at 6 pm), there's no place to go except the restaurant/bar area, or back to your room, which ours had rather dark lighting. The staff were all very attentive and make an effort to learn your name, but with several staff, it felt a bit forced. Anyway, I'm probably not the kind of traveler who this resort is really trying to appeal to, but I did enjoy the calmness and beauty of the property, despite a few small drawbacks.

"Speechless!!!"

10.0

This hotel was amazing. The pictures on the web don't do it justice, it is just jaw-dropping beautiful. The location is ideal for a total relaxation vacation. And the nature you are exposed to is also a plus. Definitely recommend to anyone, I do think that it is mainly aimed at adults as there are not many amenities aimed for kids, but still amazing.

"Forest and beach paradise"

10.0

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to take some time off to reconnect and enjoy PARADISE. Incredible views, cozy rooms, excellent food and service, the location is beautiful. We had monkeys outside our windows. The only thing to consider for anyone with physical condition is there are many stairs to and from the beach and restaurant. I had an amazing time!

"Waves and wellness, leave your electronics at home"

10.0

Beautiful resort, lovely lodge, pristine bay. The only downsides were the very poor wifi signal in our two treehouse rooms, and the unpleasant - verging on surly - attitude of our receptionist, Haydee. She had a disinterested approach to our request to understand why the wifi didn't work, and then treated us like we were just a bother to her when we explained that our request had gone hours unaddressed. Turns out the router is not located well for the upper rooms, a fact quickly communicated by the technician I had to corral. Altho you don't go there to stayed connected, a little more courtesy on this particular employees part would have been nice. Food is great but pricey although you have no other options. All other staff were great, the kayaks and snorkeling equipment are free and good quality, and the bay on Playa Gigante outstanding.
