HARRIS Hotel & Residence Sunset Road Bali

I was planning to stay around Carrefour thats why i booked here. I was quite disappointed when i checked in. The hotel looks old, not really maintained well. The room is small for 4. But we like the buffet breakfast, varity of choices and tasty.

Nice hotel, located at the Sunset road with easy access to many interesting area such as Kuta, Seminyak, Kerobokan and you may take new toll to Nusa Dua or Denpasar.

This hotel was an abysmal experience for me and my travel partner because of the incredibly incompetant staff. I predominately blame management and housekeeping, but really just more negative experiences and stories with this place than any other hotel I stayed in traveling all across Asia. Just to rattle of a few without too much explanation as I would be typing all evening: Arranging their advertised airport transfer was a nightmare. Hotel responded to 0 emails I sent about (5 over 48 hours) and I had to contact a neighboring hotel to contact them via phone and ask them to please check their email so we wouldn't be left hanging at the airport. It was ridiculous and the manager was only mildly apologetic when we arrived beacause of this, proceededing to charge us for the transfer more than what you could get a taxi to do the job for. Early morning water aerobics classes that litterly rattle your Windows with loud music. There's no sleeping through it, it was insane. Housekeeping cracked one of the incredibly expensive bottles of water open and removed it from the fridge trying to get us to pay for it. Took the bottle right up to the front desk and told them to stay out of the fridge and I wasn't paying for the bottle. No apology mind you. Had a cellphone stolen from the room (final straw, we checked into another hotel) and upon bringing this to the hotel's attention a severely unprofessional manager of housekeeping named Ferry said he talked to his staff and nobody took it. In the end I told him we would agree to disagree and I simply needed a note saying I reported it so my insurance company could cover it. He refused to provide any documentation that I even brought it to his attention saying it would make the hotel look bad. I then told him I'd like to file a police report to which he responded "okay, but it's going to cost you money to file a report with the police. I don't know how much but upwards 100000rp." We were floored. He then proceeded to condemn how I had emailed management about my grievances. I finally cut him off, told him how unprofessional he was and that me and my partner were leaving and would make sure we left reviews in regards to our experience and his needing to be retrained for him position. All and all a complete nightmare. Steer clear.

Booked 3N 1BR residence and 1N sunset suite. 1BR residence was great. Everything was great! However, the sunset suite was a disappointment. Room was dusty and felt like it was vacant for awhile. Requested for a downgrade from suite to 1BR.

Needed a room for one night as flight home was next day. Hotel was convenient for such use.

Had a wonderful stay at Harris. Competitive prices, great service and nice facilities. The food at the hotel is quite good, and the pool is nice and quiet during the day. The staff is very helpful, and I taken care of. However, do remember that this is not a hotel next to the beach, but they offer a free shuttle service down to Kuta Beach.
