The staff were amazing!! So entertaining and fun! The kids club was great and the nighttime entertainment fab for kids!

Fantastic hotel with great food, the animation team are a credit to the hotel, especially pepito! he has time for everyone and our daughter absolutely loved him. Great spot in Salou with brilliant facilities

Rooms are great with comfy beds, staff are excellent, indoor spa pool is good for a quieter swim as well as the outside one and everything is in easy walking distance, plus great public transport locally and to Tarragona (Roman Circus and Forum worth a visit) and Barcelona. Breakfast is very efficient and has a good choice. Did not bother with entertainment but there was lots of it. More of a place for young families than older people as it is in a cluster of similar hotels competing with the usual holiday music at night, though very quiet after midnight, no clubs nearby (good or bad depending on what you want!) Salou is a nice beach town although worth walking/ taking bus along the coast (Cap Salou) a short distance to the quieter beaches for snorkelling. Porta Adventura water park is a short walk away and all my Spanish friends in UK know of it. 10 journey bus pass card will take you anywhere on local routes. Food and drink very cheap at moment compared to UK.

Impresionante el trato de todo el equipo de animación, Pepito, Julio, todos los chic@s que se dedican a amenizar la estancia son de 10, trato cercano, amable, sin duda lo mejor. Las habitaciones muy bonitas, la última vez que estuvimos no estaba reformado y ha dado un cambio enorme.

Welcoming entertainment team, stylish modern rooms and delicious food served at the bar. Enjoyed fantastic entertainment throughout the day and into the evening! Would recommend for families.

Visited the Villa Romana for 1 week with my family in June. Felt a bit nervous as had read some previous reviews but the hotel itself is lovely. Rooms are spacious. Pillows aren't great but I find in hotels abroad this seems to be the same everywhere I asked for extra pillows and got them so helped us. TV was a smart TV so was able to make use of it after a busy day in the sun! Air con is good too. Bathroom lovely. Nice pressure shower Cleaners come in everyday and make beds empty bins but don't seem to sweep the floor so that was a bit annoying. Pool is lovely, not enough umbrellas tho so needed to buy one which isn't great, hotel should provide this I think. Lifeguards can be strict on floaties etc, certain lifeguards don't mind things, other ones are strict so check sizes of floaties before u buy. There is a shop on site which is handy. Food was good on certain days in the restaurant. You can switch up lunch & dinner if you like which is good. Breakfast room gets real busy after 9am. Pool bar food is lovely and reasonable priced. Only thing is the length of time u wait to order. The staff as nice as they are, there simply isn't enough of them. Especially at busy times like lunch so the quest do be a bit long. Entertainment during the day is good, entertainment team is great with everyone. Water aerobics or something different would be a good shout tho. Shows at night could be a bit better however. Hotel is situated in a good location. Next to shops. Beach etc. Easy to get around on food. Also close to portaventura too. I would recommend the hotel and salou itself.

We had a great stay here, it’s close to the beach and local shops. The staff were all very friendly. The buffet was ok, I had four kids with me and they found it hard to adjust to the Spanish food but there was chips and pizza most nights so we got enough. The only down side for us was the pillows! They were awful, not up to hotel standard at all, gave me a sore neck and found it hard to sleep. It would be 5 stars for me if the pillows were better.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights for a quick getaway, and on the whole, it is a good hotel to stay at, with just a few minor discrepancies. I stayed half-board, though would have appreciated the option to stay all inclusive. Location: The hotel itself is placed nicely between the beach and promenade area, along with PortAventura, being a 10-20 minute walk from both. It is also not too far from Barcelona Reus Airport. Arrival: We had an early flight so were at the resort by 10am. With check-in not being until 2pm, there was a room downstairs to store our cases in the meantime. We ended up getting back to the resort at 2:05pm and had to wait around 10 minutes before our room was ready. All minor inconveniences, is what it is. Room: We had a double room, which in itself was incredibly spacious, with 2 double beds and plenty of manoeuvrability. The bathroom was also modern and, in all, well above the price point. It did come with some standard amenities, a safe, a fridge, etc. It also had a smart TV, which was a pleasant surprise; however, the WiFi on the resort was so weak that we ended up having to hotspot the TV to our phone data to get it to work. Not the end of the world, but just a minor inconvenience. It would have also been nice to have coffee/tea making facilities in the room, but again, only minor. Pool/Outdoor area: The pool itself is lovely, not too cold and all-in-all just nice to swim in. However, you aren't allowed any balls/toys in the pool, and floats have to be smaller than a certain size, approx 1m² if I had to guess, which I think would make sense for an adult resort, but this is not. The loungers are certainly competitive, but you should be able to get one fairly quickly. Restaurant: The food here is probably the best resort-buffet style food I have ever had. A lot of it was fresh on site, and I often found myself going back for seconds, and even thirds. However, as you cannot book this resort all-inclusive, you have to pay for drinks at dinner. Bars: There are 3 bars at this resort: an indoor one, outdoor one, and another one off the bottom of the main indoor bar. The pricing is fair, though it would be nice to have a cocktail menu, as I could not seem to find one. The third bar often has live music on between 10:30pm-12:00am, which we enjoyed on a number of occasions. Gym: As far as resort gyms go, it does the job. It is certainly dated, and is missing a number of dumbbells that look like they have been stolen. Lifting benches are also placed on wooden flooring, with no protective padding - this could easily cause damage if a guest bites off more than they can chew. Staff: The restaurant/bar staff and receptionists were lovely, as were a number of the entertainment staff. However, we found that a number of the lifeguards were often rude and unprofessional. Its a shame, as 80% of the staff here are lovely and welcoming, they are just let down by a number of arrogant youngsters. A quick extra that I lost my wallet whilst I was here, and both the staff and fellow guests were incredibly helpful in finding it, so I am separately incredibly thankful for that. I would recommend this hotel to stay at, but it certainly needs a little uplift and the staff could use a little more training with people.

Just back from another fantastic holiday at this amazing hotel. We have been visiting for over 10 years now and all I can say is no other hotel is better. The new rooms are amazing. The only thing I would say is if you’re a family with teenagers you’re gonna have issues as it’s two double beds. The sofa bed was ideal for that situation. The pool is always a hit for me. The floor around the pool does become VERY HOT !!! Hot lava hot. So wear flip flops going to the pool and back to your sun lounger. I heard and saw a lot of complaints about the sun loungers, I never couldn’t get one. But the lifting of the towels needs to become more regular. I only saw it happen twice in the two weeks. The food was a little hit and miss but we never went hungry. The restaurant staff can be very abrupt. And we waited at least 30 minutes for someone to ask us if we wanted drinks for our meals. I’ve had to find someone most nights. The hotel is perfectly situated where everything is a little walk away. Beach 20 minutes PortAventura 20 minutes Super market 5 minutes What else could you ask for Reception was great too I missed the Scottish boy who was there last year. The entertainment every night was great so no need to go out. Mini disco then adult entertainment. The entertainment staff were amazing as usual. We did miss SERGIO this year as he seemed to give the dances an extra omf. As usual this hotel is definitely a 4 star. For that extra star I can’t think what it needs.

silly rules My family, 4 adults and 3 children ages 3,7 and 14, have just returned from this hotel on 29/06/25, we were half board. I'll start with the pros: Lovely staff, very helpful and pleasant, especially the animation team. Pepito is fab . Hotel very clean. Good location, close to restaurants and bars. Pool a great size. Food is plentiful and tasty, something for everyone. Could be warmer though. Prices very reasonable for a hotel, cocktails priced approx 7 euros, food prices also very reasonable. Beds so comfortable. Quiet at night offering a good nights sleep. Restaurant very spacious, not sitting on top of one another. Cons: I found the hotel had too many rules. Part of a childs holiiday is their inflatable. You are only allowed a very small one, even although it is a very large pool, there was a lot of disappointed kids. This should be advertised better, as a lot of people could not use the ones they had bought, having to buy replacements. The thing I found ridiculous is when the hotel insert a huge inflatable slide into the pool, yet only small childrens inflatables are permitted. I understood the rule water guns were not allowed, however, I witnessed a child being told off for having a very thin toy which squirted a small amount of water, a bit extreme to say the least. Also balls are not allowed in the pool, even although water polo is permitted using a full size ball. This occurred twice a day. One evening going into the restaurant for dinner I had my unfinished drink from the bar. This was poured into a plastic tumbler, yet there are glasses laid out on the tables. Strange!!! The next night I did the same only this time my drink was in a plastic tumbler, this was confiscated. What?!!!!! I slipped on the very wet tiles one day at the pool, there was no assistance from the lifeguards, they were too busy on their phones. This occurred frequently. The only time they weren't looking at their phones is when they were scolding someone for their oversized inflatable or ball, or eying up the girls. Finally the time you spend at the bar waiting to be served is very time consuming due to the fact there is only one til at each bar, and a couple of times it broke down. Read less Tip: if you want a canopy you need to queue early in the morning
