The Bell Hotel

The only negative I have is the Shower, the temperature never got above luke warm and the water pressure very poor, not much above a trickle. My room was number 17

Staff friendly, professional, very helpful

Tired basic rooms ok for the one night but I won’t return, a little too fusty and in need of refurbishing. It was a very hot day and there arent even desk fans in the room. The location for parking is a mystery tour experience and good luck finding a spot if you can locate it, however staff are helpful and pleasant and the pub seems popular and lively, and quietens down mid week after 8pm so guests aren’t disturbed. Sadly the kitchens weren’t open at the time of the stay and it would have been helpful to know that prior to booking. Nothing wrong with this very basic accommodation but would suggest if anyone is travelling for business and has a long drive hoping for some comforts maybe give this a miss. It’s much in need of decoration, decent furniture and carpeting.

A comfortable night followed by a truly great breakfast. A great start to a Sunday morning. This is the first time we have stopped at the hotel and were greeted to a very warm welcome. Nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff. Would definitely stop again.

Great night sleep - bed was very comfortable. Superb breakfast - the full English breakfast was well cooked and there was plenty of it. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Also it is a Georgian coaching inn so the building has lots of character.

Pleasant and helpful staff. Plenty of free parking and located centrally in town. Great price and value for money. Recommend for a informal, low cost stay in a historic building.

Don’t waste your money. Rooms were so dated. Dirty, mouldy and smelt funny. When staff were told they were very confrontational and said that the bed and redecorating had been done that day (convenient ay). We quickly checked out and booked another hotel. When asking for a refund there response was no as there is nothing wrong with the rooms! I beg to differ! Dread to think what the cleanliness of the kitchen is like looking at the rooms. They also said it’s £75 a night what do you expect. At least somewhere habitable Overall. Not a great experience and their customer service skills were dier as well!

Don’t waste your money Rooms disgusting. Dated. Mouldy. Staff very rude when told them about issues. Refused a refund. Walk out and booked somewhere else. Dread to think what the cleanliness of the kitchen is like going odd the rooms! Avoid!

The bed was perfect. The shower however did not work at al. The stay was fine for our purpose. It was vey noisy.
