Amazing place youd never know is in the city. Will Definitely stay again on my next visit.

We stayed here on our last night before heading home the next morning. The airport is 5 minutes away, so that's a bonus. I wouldn't stay anywhere else, made our last stay in Costa Rica memorable. We didn't have dinner at the restaurant, but i wish we did. We had a great breakfast though, Nubel (owners) and his wife were very hosplitable, they themselves brought out our food, which was yummy. This place is an oasis, with lovely gounds, very colorful array of foliage. All the balcony's face the pool, was nice to just sit out and listen to the rain come down. We were able to swim for awhile before the rain came down. I highly recommend the Trapp Family Country Inn, you will not be disappointed.

It is such a beautiful site. My companion couldn't believe that such a place existed in Alajuela.

Great introduction to Costa Rica. Much better than staying in one of the anonymous airport hotels. Arrived late and woke up to bird noises (and planes!). My kids thought they were in the jungle already and not just by the airport! The pool was a little oasis and breakfast was delicious. Thank you!

After several trips to San Jose I can safely say that the service and care I receive at Trapp Family Country Inn is the best in San Jose. Upon arrival my wife and I are always greeted by there friendly staff who take excellent care of you. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for. It feels like you are in a little oasis away from the city even though you are within 5 minutes of the airport. Their food is excellent ( I recommend the casados) and they have a beautiful dining area. Nubel and Karin are more than generous with accommodations and Nubel even helped us out with cab fair to the airport during our last visit. I won't stay anywhere else when I land in San Jose.

My husband and I LOVE Trapp Family hotel. We come here every time we go to Costa Rica. It is a fantastic place to land after a long day of traveling since it is only 5 minutes from San José airport. The people running this hotel are such heart felt and sweet people who truly care about their guests. The rooms are beautifully designed and the beds are very comfortable. Their pool is perfect for cooling down on a hot day, while also being big enough to swim laps. The restaurant serves delicious food, the fish is so yummy. The classic Costa Rican breakfast is great too. The hotel is secluded and tucked away from the main road, so you don’t hear traffic. When you enter the gate it’s like entering a little slice of heaven :) I can highly recommend you stay at Trapp hotel if you are visiting San José or simply needing a place to stay in between traveling.

We only stayed one night but upon arrival we were greeted very coldly. No one offered to help with our bags (we are all in our 60’s). They must be carried up 3 or 4 to enter the building and then up to the second floor if your room is there , which ours were. The grounds and pool were gorgeous and unfortunately we didn’t get to use the pool. Beds were clean and comfortable but we had some ants and bugs in the room. I know they were trying to be eco friendly but the lobby could have had a couple of lights on. The whole hotel was dark. Taxi arrangements were excellent

Truly a hidden treasure of far better value than cost. Difficult to find because of its surprisingly secluded location in San Jose. Near airport. Staff incredibly friendly, accommodating, attentive... Great meals. I would definitely stay there again - wished we had arranged a longer stay there. Rich and Laurie

Just what we needed after a long haul flight, close to the airport, wonderful staff, beautiful grounds, nice dinner menu, lovely breakfast. It was just perfect!
