Trapp Family Lodge

We found the room to be cold with uncomfortable furniture. We also had a long, steep hike to our room every time (we were the furthest from reception). It was just not the relaxing, comfortable respite we had hoped for.

Nicely appointed corner room but on the cooler side on very windy evenings. We ate in the dining room all three evenings of our stay and the food and service was excellent. All staff very friendly and helpful.

Very pleasantly stay. All staff try their best to help every guest, the free breakfast has homemade cheese which make the meal so especial! I highly recommend!

I liked the beautiful grounds and proximity to what we wanted to do. I didn’t like the fact there was no place to hang your clothes & we had to keep asking where breakfast would be.

It was amazing!!! The accommodations were wonderful. The service was excellent. The property is about a five min walk from the entrance to Monteverdi forest. The hotel staff are wonderful and extremely helpful in planning outings and tours. The food at the restaurant is fresh and delicious. I cannot say anything bad about our experience at the Trapp hotel.

Dining service was great. Restaurant food is delicious. Front desk staff was friendly. The only thing I’m not happy about is that by adding two kids to the same room reservation for two nights, I had to pay $260 additional - sounds too money hungry and does not make sense!

The staff were really helpful in helping us organise trips and transfers. The view from our room was beautiful. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. It’s a beautiful location!

Very nice property, great breakfast, super friendly and helpful staff

We had a lovely stay. Very helpful staff. The reception team helped book a last minute guided walk in Monteverder NP. Bar staff were very friendly, even gave us some traditional Costa Rican cooking tips! Big room with a lovely view, when the weather allowed. Breakfast is definitely skewed in favour of those who like eggs! But very nice with fresh fruit and tea/coffee/juice.

Fabulous staff, very kind and helpful. The breakfasts were great and we had a wonderful dinner at the on-site restaurant. It's a 10 - 15 minute walk into the Monteverde Cloud Forest. It wasn't a problem for us, but there are some steep ramps getting to some of the rooms and from the road to the parking lot. If you have mobility issues, be sure to check with the staff about options.
