Hotel Valle del Rio, SA

the hotel seems dated....had an old iPhone charger without an adapter for newer models..I think it was an iPhone 1 type clock charger....the alarm clock went off at midnight...couldn't turn it off..had to unplug it. The bed was comfortable with a nice blanket..it gets cold at night and I had to turn off the A/C. Took a while to figure out the TV, none of the housekeepers seemed to know how to make it work, but after 1/2 hour or so I did find an English Channel ( it was on Spanish" Peppa pig", when I turned it on and we couldn't get rid of it for a while. On line photos make it look very nice..not exactly my experience.

I was beautiful! super clean and comfortable. the garden was gorgeous. One of the cleaning ladies was extremely helpful when we couldnt figure out the coffe machine. nighttime front desk was friendly and extremely helpful. I will come back to this hotel.

Accomodation was pretty good, is near to the town, very quiet, very clean and staff are very helpfulness. I recommend the hotel.

The people everywhere here are great. The restaurant and the atmosphere on the porch are amazing! The room was well appointed and roomy with a nice patio overlooking the stream. Everything perfect except the walls are a little thin and there were outdoor noises from next door through much of the night.

They have a nice area by the river to sit and enjoy at night.

Where to start... this hotel claims to be the only hotel in Boquete with AC in all rooms - this is a flat out lie, my room didn't have AC - and I wish it had because the room was stuffy and hot. Food in the restaurant is inedible, and that's not an exaggeration. Very odd given that Boquete actually has some of the best food in Panama. Wifi simply doesn't reach the rooms and isn't usable at all. Complaining about it did no good as all the receptionist had to say was "correct, correct, correct". Laundry prices are obscene. Also, the policy of charging you $10 if you lose the room key - which is the typical plastic room key you get everywhere - is unbelievable and something I had never seen before. The safe kept on malfunctioning, which is an issue when the maid leaves your 1st story room balcony completely open when she's done. When power goes out, their generator sounds like a 747 is revving its engine inside your ears.

This property needs maintenance and improvement. Staff is serviceable and the restaurant is very good.
