Wonderful historic property with lovely rooms and an airy open atmosphere.

We loved the property.

Lovely hotel in a central location - the rooms felt luxurious, lots of nice touches including the welcome snack and drink. Very nice pub with a great menu. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The staff were wonderful, the rooms were adorable and the location ideal. The outdoor patio was a great place for an evening cocktail and they were having World Cup matches on a big screen. Would certainly come back.

Es war eine sehr gute Stimmung, super nettes zuvorkommendes Personal, wunderschön und sehr britisch eingerichtete Zimmer , coole Musik , schöner heller Frühstücksraum , gutes Frühstück , ein sehr sehr schönes Hotel. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt

From the first time we were introduced to Jon (Events Manager) at City Gate we had every confidence that he would deliver our perfect day and we were not disappointed. The planning meetings we had with Jon were straight forward and nothing was too much trouble. Jon would regularly say to us 'just leave it with me' and 'that's for me to sort out' and he always fixed it! On the day Jon and Luke (General Manager) were waiting to greet us outside and the room was set up beautifully, along with the outdoor games we had dropped off to entertain the children in our party. We had so many compliments on the venue, quality of the food, table lay out and how well we were looked after on the day. We would whole heartedly recommend the City Gate as a wedding venue and we certainly be returning soon! Huge thank you to Jon and the team at the City Gate for making our day so perfect!

The staff and the fights and shouting in the corridor until 2am Moving rooms at 10:30 at night as the Sky tv wasn't working, The dripping shower head all night
