We were very disappointed with the grubbiness considering that this is a supposed four star hotel. There were fingerprints on the glass doors throughout the hotel, the main lift was again covered in fingerprints and the floor of the lift had disgusting stains on the carpet. The bedroom smelt of damp and the bedspread & carpet was covered in stains. Bathroom was OK. Unfortunately our experience has put us off staying at the Mere again. As mentioned, the premise of a four star experience to what was delivered could not have been further ends of the spectrum. I will not put any blame on the staff who were lovely but I am shocked that a hotel lacks such basic quality control to be able to put right such obvious lapses in standards.

Great stay, clean, comfortable, food service

It’s a lovely hotel, the staff were nice, the breakfast and spa were divine! It’s worth noting that the lake view is obstructed and they are golfing just outside your window. Also, the fine print does state (which I didn’t read) that there are additional charges to use the pool - so don’t be fooled into thinking it’s included.

Great. However, I feel it’s a bit of a cheek to charge paying guests an extra £15 to use pool and facilities!!

The Mere is a very good hotel and resort complex. The staff are first class and the meals are very good. I will look forward to staying again when in the area.

Bed was awful, had a twin room, bed was too soft, it was like sleeping on a bouncy castle

Very nice Hotel set in lovely grounds and the staff very friendly and professional

Lovely hotel, we only had breakfast which was very nice. Beds very comfortable and rooms to a high standard. The only downside is they charge £14.95 to use the gym which should be free.
