The Mere Golf Resort & Spa

A beautiful setting, had everything you would expect and more and very clean - could not fault it at all.

This is the second time we have stayed here. The first time was 3 years ago and we remembered this as a beautiful luxury property. Though we had a pleasant stay this time, we were not as impressed. We were surprised to learn that a fee is now charged to use the pool/ spa facilities and up until the day before had been £15 pp/ per hour. We were informed on arrival this had been reduced to £15 pp for our overnight stay which we still felt was ridiculous and had not been clear when booking. Previously, if we were deciding to stay in the area we wouldn’t look past this hotel, but we will likely explore other properties next time.

Pleasant stay. Room was clean and well presented. Breakfast was nice with a good selection. Service all round was good. The only negative is that guests have to pay by the hour to use the gym or the swimming pool! Room rates are high enough that this should really be included. Disappointing.

Superb stay, spa facilities amazing!!

Lovely hotel, room was good, bathroom modern and clean, a little lacking in amenities, no shower cap etc but nice. Bed was quite comfortable but the pillows were shocking, no support whatsoever. Breakfast was delicious, most perfect poached egg but quite wet scrambled egg, otherwise great

tHE HOTEL ROOM WAS SPACIOUS AND CLEAN HOWEVER THE WATER did not drain away quickly from the sink or the shower. The toilet did not flush easily either. The evening meal in the golf bar was only very average indeed. The duck spring rolls were like a farmfoods cheap starter. The chicken curry was also like a ready meal. I don't think this is nearly good enough. The waitress spilled the poppadom crackers on the floor and didn't even clean them up. Breakfast was better however I was never offered tea or coffee so overall a very poor showing from the staff service and food was mediocre at best.

Overall our stay was a warm and friendly environment. Fabulous selection of drinks at the club lounge bar especially cocktail choices. I would stay again.

Nice hotel in a convenient location and really enjoyed the breakfast.

The breakfast staff were superb, the food was really good but overall the weekend was not what we were expecting, extremely disappointed with the new policy re the spa. booking a spa hotel we don’t expect to pay £15 per person per hour to use the pool, is not what we expect of a spa hotel.
