Canal Quays Apartments

I booked a stay here through Booking.com for a work trip, checking in on June 9th. Because I was traveling for business, I only made it to the apartment around 9:00 PM. To my absolute horror, the bed was infested with bedbugs. When I tried to contact management to resolve this immediately, I discovered that this property has no reception desk and no after-hours phone number to call. It is run by a property management company that completely disappears at night and does not answer calls. Left with a contaminated bed and zero support from the hosts, I had no choice but to scramble and book entirely alternative accommodation out of my own pocket late at night. If you are a business traveler, or anyone who values hygiene and basic customer service, do not book here. If anything goes wrong, you will be completely on your own.

The apartment is comfortable and not too bad.

I stayed there for a whole week and my apartment was only cleaned once. Imagine coming back to a dirty apartment everyday after a long day. This was a terrible experience. The apartment was riddled with mosquitoes. I went to the hospital twice because of bad mosquito allergies. The apartment did not have anything to kill the mosqitoes. Also, the bed had bed bugs. Absolutely filthy.

For the price of the property I would have expected a full bouquet of DSTV channels.

Well located and very clean

Noisy neighbours coming in late night an security not asking guests to quite down a bit. No trolley to take luggage to unit, had to walk a few times.

Cheap, but you get what you pay for, the savings came at the cost of a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Cleanliness needs attention, the check-in process was frustrating, and the building felt quite strange. It’s also a substantial walk to the V&A — much further than described in reviews. There’s major room for improvement.
