3HB Guarana - All Inclusive

We had a nice stay overall. The weather was great for the first four days, which made the holiday very enjoyable. The outdoor areas and swimming pool were lovely, and there were some activities for children, which was nice for families. The food was okay, and in general we had a relaxing and enjoyable week.

The stay could have been better in a few areas. The choice of activities for children was quite limited, and the food was average rather than great. The outdoor swimming pool was also very cold, although this may have been because of the weather.

PROS: The staff were very kind and helpful, I'm rather a demanding customer, with several particular requests, and I was very surprised to see all were met. The all inclusive was very good with 3 buffet restaurants, normal, Asian and Mediterranean. The food quality I have to say was amazing, the variety and the selection for gluten free, lactose free, and so on, were also very very good... The kids club was good, the pools were very good, we particularly enjoyed the kids 0.30m pool which was comparatively calm. The night entertainment was good, not the best of an all inclusive hotel if you compare it to other 4 starts all inclusive hotels in Turkey, for example. But still good. I would definitely recommend yhe hotel and come back again!

CONS: (1) Kids club TV - if parents wanted to keep their kids entertained with a screen, parents would not need a kids club. We take our kids to the kids club for them to be entertained in a fun, creative, energetic and healthy way. That's what parents want. I spent a lot of time of my 10 days stay at the kids club (under 4yo girl) and I saw plenty of kids absorbed by the TV. I asked the staff to turn it off or at least just put music on without video, I was told it was not possible. The kids club staff claim to have strict management instructions to keep the tv on ?! This is not acceptable for me. (2) Pool lifeguard - during my 10 days stay I spent a lot of time by the pools. The lifeguards never take their eyes off their phone screen. Ever. This is absolutely mortifying to witness. Pool lifeguard job can of course be boring if everyone is safe at the pools. But if not, these people would not even realise it. Be extra careful parents!

Só da questão de não ter estacionamento disponível no entanto havia muito estacionamento cá fora ;) por isso acabou por não ser problema

Great hotel, staff very friendly. Hotel is very clean. Outdoor kids pool amazing my daughter loved it.

Can here 2 years ago and had a wonderful time. Checked in this month to find the room very stuffy and hot, only to be told by reception all rooms are set to hot and not cold and that there’s nothing they can do about it and don’t know when the cold setting will be changed. Really poor from a top hotel and expect better given we are now in spring temperatures in Portugal.

Hotel & grounds are well kept & generally clean. Our room was easier to use since the sofa bed split into two single’s, so no complaining about the kids sharing. We did have some extra friends though, the floor was covered in ants and the cleaners just put down some bug spray which didn’t really help! This made it hard work & no food or drink in the room was near impossible with kids! I’ve stayed in so many hotels & never experienced this. The food was very basic for dinner and limited choice and similar for drinks. The location is great & the hotel is well placed to reach the beach & town. We didn’t really stay out in the evening as the entertain was basic & the kids weren’t interested. The pools are good but absolutely freezing this time of year. The indoor pool is lovely and a good size but packed! We made the most of it but probably wouldn’t return to this hotel.

We stayed at the hotel between 28 March and 4 April. Overall we had a great stay - the hotel was spotless and the rooms were comfortable. We ate three nights at the main buffet, two at the Mediterranean and two at the Oriental. The Mediterranean was incredibly busy, with a long queue for the main meals. It was quite heavily meat-focused with similar desserts to the main buffet. The oriental was much more relaxing, with sushi and some hot dishes (noodles, spring rolls, gyoza etc). Tons of choice at the main buffet and lots for the kids. I was also super impressed with how clean the high chairs were - they are obviously thoroughly wiped down after every use! The snack bar was a good option for lunch (or a post swim treat). It had pizza, chips, toasties, sandwiches, salads and ice cream. As other comments have mentioned, the coffee in the restaurants is dire. You can get decent enough coffee at the bar beside the pool and that’s what sustained us! The staff are lovely and so friendly with the kids. My four year old loved the kids club as did my one year old (we were in with him). The pools were freezing but the indoor pool is open to kids most of the day so was a great alternative. My only complaint comes with the air con (or lack thereof). It was about 25 degreees when we were there and with two young kids i needed the room cooler for bedtime. I was told the aircon was on a centralised system that was set to a high temp so I couldn’t get cold air in the room. The only thing to do was to open the balcony door. I was really uncomfortable doing that for safety reasons with two young kids (we were on the fourth floor). There was no option but to build a barricade so we would be woken up if the kids tried to get out. Really not good enough for a hotel of this standard. Air con should be available in all the rooms all year round.
