Hotel Apartement La Perle

When I arrived at 17.15 room key 23 was left for me in the entrance hall together with a welcome letter and sheet of paper saying in German if I had any problems contact the owner / manager at the Astoria Hotel. Went up to room to find it clearly occupied by several skiers (not in room) whose belongings, dirty clothes and food were there. With the help of the receptionist at the adjacent hotel she contacted the Astoria and arranged for a taxi to take me up to the Astoria foc. The Assistant Manager was very apologetic and wanted to take me to yet another Hotel. I insisted I went no further having been travelling for over 10 hours. He showed me a very small bedroom with single bed but this was acceptable in every other way. We agreed a substantial discount and agreed to provide a taxi next morning back to the Station as this Hotel was about 1km away from the station. All this happened. Hence I cannot comment on La Perla but on the experience. It seems that my experience is not unusual from the comments made but I have no proof of that.

Easy 5 min's walk to center of Zermatt, even closer to the station and Gornergratt train. Spacious, with helpful staff at a local hotel.

Its a good place to stay for a group of 5 pax. Clean and comfortable .... No reception but you can easily find the keys at the lobby counter. Anything you need just call Astoria and they will attend right away. Euro 2.00 for transfer to train station (raining)

Wonderful location run by a local couple. No personnel on site most of the time. Functional, clean but not fancy. It has what you need.
