"A pleasant and friendly hotel"

10.0

This is a great hotel for families. We paid for an upgraded room (thinking we were getting a Bunk Bed) and were given a room with access to a pool shared only with 4 other rooms. As our stay was on the last week the hotel was open (October Half Term) this was essentially our own pool! However, all the pools are very cold. There were barely 30 people left on the final Saturday so it was very quiet - however the hotel is clearly set up for 10 times more guests than that at least. It's reasonable to say the place is better for younger children. Our 10 year old loved it but 14 year old felt there wasn't enough to do for teenagers so we had to go offsite for teenager friendly activities. The Hotel staff are very personable and approachable, the entertainment and activities team were fantastic and memorable. I recommend this hotel for families. And the 15-20 minute airport transfer is definitely a bonus

"Fantastic holiday as a family of 4"

10.0

Stayed here for 10 nights in October as a family of 4 with a toddler and a baby. We had the most amazing holiday here and have since been looking at when we can return! We got a free upgrade to a sea view family suite. Hugely spacious room with a great balcony which is also safe for children. Both cots were there on our arrival as requested. The only minor issue is that we were now on the second floor and there are no lifts which meant we had to carry our double buggy up and down stairs. Nothing to complain about but just a heads up for other people planning to bring a pram, to make sure you are on the ground floor. We were incredibly happy with the food. Breakfast was just perfect. We liked having the option of the main restaurant or Italian restaurant for breakfast. Lunch, we couldn’t believe the many options! Gyros, pizza and pasta bar, sandwich and wrap bar, or the general buffet restaurant. We were very happy with dinner. Never got bored of the options at the buffet, plenty of choice. We used our 1 a la carte in the Greek restaurant and the food was amazing. We then asked in reception if it would be possible to book another and they allowed us to also book the American Diner as they had extra availability. This was very kind of them as we knew we were usually only allowed 1 a la carte visit per stay. One of our favourite parts of this holiday was the coffee bar. Margareta and the other lady who worked there were two of the friendliest people we have ever met. They were both so loving with our daughters and it made us all look forward to going to see them and enjoy a coffee and a sweet treat every day. Other positives: The stay and play sessions in the kids club were great. So many toys that both of my daughters loved it in there. I wish I would have found out about it earlier in our holiday. The beach was great. The sea water was nice and warm despite it being end of October. Never struggled to find a sun lounger and great sand. Loved how close we were to Kardemena. Very easy to walk to for a nice browse around souvenir shops, the harbour and to stop for an iced coffee Good choice of cocktails in the hotel. Nice atmosphere around the pools. They were just way too cold this time of year. It’s a shame one of them couldn’t be heated. Used spa and the gym, decent facilities. Few pieces of gym equipment need fixing but made do and wasn’t really a problem. The only negative that we had is the locks on the room doors. You are not able to lock the doors from the inside, as they automatically lock from the outside and can only be opened from the outside with a room key. However, we did not like that as we were not able to lock the door from the inside or at least put a latch across as the door opened into the lounge where our toddler slept. I felt like this was a little unsafe. Our daughter could also reach up and open the door handle herself so we had to block the door. Another minor negative which we have seen in other reviews, that we agree with, is the rudeness of the reception staff. This is apart from the Australian lady who was incredibly polite, friendly and helpful. This is not something that would prevent us from returning, but I can see why so many other people have complained about this and is probably something that the hotel should work on. Tips: Take extension lead for room. Minimal plugs Give plenty of notice if you need an iron. It took us 2/3 days to get one because they loan them out (€20 deposit) to people who do not bring them back. The hotel also doesn’t have many. Take mosquito repellent, creams etc.

"Great for younger kids"

8.0

We stayed here towards the end of October, lovely location, quick transfer (always a bonus). Nice greeting for check in, requested adjoining rooms but the hotel doesn’t do them, so we had 2 rooms next door to each other. Rooms were dusty with some cobwebs but ok location wise, we had a partial sea view as we looked through the outdoor restaurant. Food was a bit repetitive- we preferred eating in the Italian restaurant as my picky eater lived on pizza. Pools are way too cold in October, however if you like the sea, it’s a stone throw away and absolutely beautiful, take googles to go and see the fish - absolutely wonderful. No trouble with sun beds, as hotel was very low in capacity as it was closing down as few days after we left, last couple of days, food was very very repetitive I felt like they were running stocks down. Holiday village staff we came across were lovely, our children were older (13 & 17) so there wasn’t a great deal they could take part in (it was only the 13 year old who wanted to get involved) . Lots of activities are up to age 12. However we did play some football (3 times) & water polo (once) when it was hosted by kids club. Football coaches were lovely, thanks Chloe and Carter ⚽️ Sunrise yoga was lovely but only on twice in the week. Be cautious if you have mobility issues, the village is very hilly & lots of steps, so request a lower room if need be. Well worth a walk to Kardamena, lovely cute shops and bars. Nice hotel, I put a lot of the issues we found down to the hotel getting ready to close. We have done holiday villages for the last 12 years! This was one of the better places, but it will be our last holiday village as we have outgrown the programme now. Could do with some indoor entertainment later in the season, as it’s so cold outdoors in the evenings & you will get bit by the mosquitoes.

Nice hotel. Food is nice but gets a bit boring after a few days of the same stuff. Staff a little rude, like you are disturbing them all the time

"Good"

This is not a 5 star hotel. The good: the guys who drive the buggies are super nice. The pools are clean. The reception manager is very nice and helpful, The rooms are nice. The bad: Lacks the essence of greek hospitality. Most of the people who work there (non-greeks) are not knowledgable, not helpful and should don't be in the hospitality business. Certain facilities are closed without notice (like areal/jumpropes etc). Should have better quality lounge chairs. The food is ok-it should be amazing, Dining rooms should be air conditioned! There is a lot of walking to the reception to check on things. A phone call should be sufficient or a working app. You waste a couple of hours a day to walk back and forth.. The beach is not good. I would not go back, this is an expensive hotel and the value is not there at all.

Lovely hotel and the staff/ bar staff extremely friendly and accommodating, cleaners came everyday to clean our room and were lovely. The only negative I have is that it was impossible to book into the Asian Restaurant within our 10 night stay and we had our hopes set on booking into this restaurant but unfortunately it always said it was fully booked however, every time we walked past the restaurant it was always empty with one table of people in there at most. We did however manage to book into the American Diner instead of the Asian in the end and also the Greek Taverna on our last night and both these restaurants were absolutely lovely. Also the Italian restaurant which you can visit as often as you want on an All Inclusive package was also lovely with plenty of food options to suit all tastes. Overall I would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend to friends and family, we miss Kos already.
