RARO Ipanema Boutique Hotel

Amazing views, amazing house and design, but especially amazing atmosphere (I felt like at home 🥰), special people and that sense of integration with the community that makes RARO at rare experience in Rio 🦜💛

The breakfast could be a bit better ☺️ Ps: I loved the design of the home and the stairs as I am a sporty person. However, the architecture might be very challenging for disabled people. Just to keep in mind.

The hotel is in poor condition and does not match the photos shown on the website. In my room, the entrance door handle was broken. In the bathroom, the window was rotten and the window frame was literally falling apart. The glass was poorly secured, which made it impossible to properly open the window and ventilate the bathroom. There was no curtain on the bathroom/toilet window, and there is another building directly opposite with windows facing the room, so there was absolutely no privacy. The blackout curtain in the room was torn off, making it impossible to properly block the light. There were also many signs of wear and neglect throughout the room: scratched and damaged doors and walls, some lights were not working, and even the light switch was falling off the wall. I informed the staff about all of these issues immediately after check-in. They showed me two other rooms, but both were in even worse condition, and they said there was nothing else they could do. On the third day, I managed to speak directly with the hotel owner. He told me that he was fully aware of all these issues and said that “this is normal.” Instead of addressing the problems, he kept talking about the good view and the fact that the staff speak English. However, not all staff members actually speak English. I explained several times that my concern was the condition of the room, but my complaints were basically ignored. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

die anlage ist sehr gemütlich und lädt auch zum verweilen ein wenn man keine lust hat gross was zu unternehmen das personal ist super süss und herzlich

die seife auf den zimmern passt meiner meinung nach nicht zu einem hotel es gab die selbe auf den bar toiletten etwas hochwertigeres fände ich angebrachter aber das ist mein persönliches empfinden da ich anderes gewohnt bin es wurde leider weder beim ein- noch auschecken beim gepäck geholfen (es sind viele treppen zur unterkunft) was ich persönlich nicht cool finde
