La Laguna del Lagarto Eco-Lodge

Excelente!

Stayed for 2 nights, 3 days. Meals were very good, every employee very friendly. Room while nothing fancy was spotless and sheets were nice and soft. We were there for birding and it did not disapoint. Many thanks to the night guard for helping us to find the Central american Screech Owls and the White Cotinga.

This Lodge is a magical place! It’s in the rainforest and has long trails where you can explore on your own, which is really nice. The rooms are nice and clean and the staff were kind and welcoming. We loved the delicious meals that we had during our stay. Toucans, Parrots and lots of majestic King Vultures, are just a few of the kinds of birds you can see easily here! You may even get lucky enough to see a Tapir! This is a place that you will truly enjoy if you love birds and nature!

We spent two nights at Laguna del Lagarto Eco-Lodge and enjoyed it very much. The lodge offers a truly immersive nature experience, with stunning views from the restaurant that make you feel completely surrounded by the wild. The property is well-maintained and features its own trails, with a variety of daily activities available for booking upon arrival. Whether you're interested in photographic hides, guided walks, or searching for different species, there's always something to do. We can definitely recommend the short caiman tour in the evening and the King Vulture hides for photographers. A special mention to our guide Henry who has been passionately showing people around for over 20 years! The food at the lodge is excellent. While there's a set menu, we found every meal to be delicious and satisfying. The quality of the food was a pleasant surprise and added to the overall enjoyment of our stay. One downside was the lack of air conditioning in the rooms (only a little fan that doesn't really cool the room much). This wouldn't be an issue during cooler weather, but our visit coincided with a heat wave, which made it uncomfortably hot with few ways to cool down. Despite this, Laguna del Lagarto Eco-Lodge is a fantastic destination for nature lovers. Its beautiful setting, great food, and range of activities make it a great choice for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty of the area.

The location is perfect for bird lovers. The Manage and his staff did everything to make our stay more pleasant. Food there were delicious and lots of choices. I have already booked my next years trip, yes it is that popular.

No AC, it gets pretty hot in the room.

It's a good place for bird watching but that's all !!!!! The food is terrible, it's a poor buffet for all meals and expensive for the quality. The room was awfull with a dripping smell and at 4am the room was flooded because of the toilet !!!! And nobody at the hôtel except the guard to help us. So we wait outside from 4am until 6.30am that somebody take care of the problem. I won't recommend this place too expensive for what it is. Also I don't recommend the boat tour. It start to late in the morning (8.30am), so you won't see nothing really interesting and the guide was sleeping on the boat !!!!! And for the night tour, the guide yells instead of talking softly so animals escape !!!!
