Doray Motel

The Doray is a friendly motel in a convenient location near Lake George. The room was Adirondack style, clean, with a new bathroom. Comfortable room included a fridge, microwave, tv and a/c. I walked a few steps to Stewart’s in the morning to buy coffee and a bagel. Would definitely stay there again.

Charming. Cabin-like. Rustic but cozy and convenient to a pharmacy and stewarts.

Our stay was “eh.” The room (bed area) was okay but the bathroom was really dirty. We literally showered with sandals on so we wouldn’t touch the shower floor. Lots of rust on things in the bathroom as well. The a.c. in the room didn’t work all that well. The bed seemed somewhat comfy but my back hurt pretty bad the next day.

Good location and very clean. Comfortable bed. I stayed in the back and it was very peaceful.

Was cold, little wall heater didnt help, and bathroom window came open with storm during the night, so it was really cold come morning, otherwise a nice place.

Shocking pink bedsheet. Cramped table and chairs, really not usable. Mirror in the bathroom is misplaced above the toilet seat instead of the vanity. Absolutely no outlet available to charge electronic equipment. The walls are so thin, I can hear next room until 1 am.

The room was clean, the bed and bedding very comfortable. No odors. Good price. Great central location.

Great staff, clean, and great location. Maybe throw in a little coffee pot into the bedroom, but otherwise it was perfect for what we needed. There is a Stewart’s next door for coffee if needed.

I’m not the type of person to give anyone a hard time or a bad review. I usually look for inexpensive hotels when traveling and understand these rooms will have issues. I didn’t mind the stained carpet, beat up futon mattress, few creepy crawlers that found their way in, or dirty and moldy curtains in the bathroom. Considering the climate and use this place gets, all were to be expected. I was even ok with the electric wall heater not working well enough to heat the room when the temperature dipped to 38 degrees. The owners quickly provided a brand new portable heater which worked fine. What did bother me and why I would tell people to avoid this place is the attitude of the owner after I told his wife that the hot water in the SHOWER was barely warm. The sink was very hot. She supposedly did not give him the Correct message. When I returned to my room on Saturday expecting a nice hot shower, nothing was corrected. I spoke to the owner who told me, long story short, that the water was hot when he checked the sink but didn’t know the issue was the shower and that nothing could be done at this point. HERE IS WHERE I GOT ANNOYED. Since I wasn’t going to have hot water, I asked him what he could do for me regarding my stay. He replied, “would you like to check out?” with a polite smile fully knowing that the area was packed for the weekend. I mentioned perhaps another room and he said they were full and again asked if I would like to check out. To me, this was the biggest F-you. He didn’t offer a late check out, a partial refund, or some sort of gesture to make me feel appreciated as a customer. So, just know the type of person you’re dealing with if you decide to stay at this place. The bed was comfy, the cabin was cozy, but the attitude sucked!
