"Quaint and quirky"

6.0

Excellent location - A good place for walks right into the forest - literally 5 minutes from the hotel. Evening food is good and satisfying , although their sekt is somewhat usual.- Pancake soup is really tasty. Breakfast is very basic continental style . Only tea is earl grey ....if you like it. So you know where to sit in the morning - each table has the guest's name on it! Bed rooms are small , clean and tidy - beds was a touch on the firm side. The hotel is on the main road - but there's not much traffic in the evening - so not much noise. Family run business, slightly scary owner but she grows on you :) No reception as such - you have to go into the main resturant to book in. We only stayed one night - but overall good value for money.

"Typical German country hotel"

8.0

The hotel is located at the start/end of the Black Forest main high road and is ideally located for exploring the area. The rooms are a little small (make sure you are close to the person you share with) but clean and comfortable. Also bear in mind there is some road noise. The hotel is family run and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Wifi is available in the hotel but different parts of the hotel have better signal strengths so you may need to move around to connect properly.Excellent buffet breakfast and reasonable lunch and dinner menu. Good German beer. Nearby is a small convenience store and 2 banks. If we stayed in thge area again we would definitely stay at the Adler Post.

"Friendly family run hotel in quiet village"

8.0

We booked this as an overnight stop whilst travelling back from Austria to the UK. Overall, I was happy with the hotel considering the modest price. The location is in a very quiet village in the heart of the Black Forest. There is a general store, a couple of banks and some smart shops aimed at the clientèle attending the posh clinic. A larger village is 2km away and Freudenstadt is about 30 mins away. The hotel decor is a little tired. The staff are very friendly. I was very happy with the menu but the limited choice based on regional recipes may not suit all. The buffet breakfast was pretty good for a small German hotel.
