Ga'aton Motel

Moti was very welcoming on our arrival a bit later in the evening having made a last minute booking... However all the paperwork was there and nothing was too much trouble, including a drink dinner suggestions and how to get around the town. The room was really tidy and had everything one needed!

Nahariya is the undiscovered gem of Israel. The Ga'aton Hotel is for the sincere traveler who can do without breakfast, phones, bathtubs, elevators, daily room cleanings, concierge service or 24-hour onsite management. It is more like renting a room than staying in a hotel, which exactly fit the bill for a week of rest and relaxation. The hotel's location is excellent, set back off the main street, just one block from the beach. Moti and his wife, Batya, were robustly gracious hosts, greeting at check-in with fresh flowers and cookies. They promptly provided anything needed during the stay -- towels, soap, water, toilet paper, etc. They even loaned the use of a cell phone to be in touch with friends locally. Since sound travels easily in this hotel and gets quite noisy at times with people talking in the hallways or adjacent rooms, it's less than ideal for families with children.

The proprietor made sure that we understood everything and that he was there to help us, and he did. The hotel is not fancy, but it's clean and near the beach (if that matters to you). The room was quite small, but there was no need for it to be bigger, and the beds were comfortable.

The owner of the hotel knows a lot about surrounding, and his advices are very helpful. He gave us very useful tips about Rosh HaNiqra and Akko, including places to park and eat. He was very pleasant. Location of the hotel is very nice, very close to the beach and many caffe and shops.

The statement on the Expedia confirmation form that the hotel rate includes taxes--is inaccurate. Did not expect: a) Breakfast is not included, b) Feeding public parking meter beginning 8am.

The friendly staff made sure to answer all questions and honor all requests before heading home for the evening. Kitchen has tables, chairs, microwave oven, plenty of dishes and clean-up materials. I recommend this hotel for the able-bodied, self-sufficient budget-minded traveler.

We were welcomed very warmly and a lot of attention was given to make sure we were happy and had what we needed. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

The guy at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel looks like it has been redone recently. If not, it is extremely well-kept up (on the inside). It is a very charming place right on the main street downtown but by the ocean so the location is perfect for beach-goers and shoppers alike. However, it is far enough back from the road that it's not noisy at night.
