Great location and probably great in winter!

No air conditioning and it was 36 degrees the day I stayed

Age, decor, location. Willingness to put things right such as honouring the 10% off food in restaurants despite not being Informed of this by booking.Com as part of agreement. Also upset when old food found in drawers

Found deteriorating fruit and pastries in the top drawer dressing table. Apples pears apricots, sausage rolls , old and smelling.

Stayed here for one night 20th June in room 12. Had a fabulous lunch with 6 others and all of us thought the food was outstanding. Brilliant service by lovely friendly staff in the restaurant and at the bar. Breakfast too was excellent and yet again the staff were superb. Without hesitation I’d recommend this pub for its food and friendly atmosphere but perhaps not so much for the quality of its rooms.

Our room was ok but very hot! Thank goodness there was a large fan or we would have expired! Limited places to put little things on. Small double bed which ok but if you haven’t slept on one that size for years you’re never going to have a restful sleep! Tiny bathroom, shower and sink. Bedside light and shaving mirror light not working. Also I spilled a little water on the fake wooden floor so used tissues to mop it up and it was so dirty and plainly obvious the floor hadn’t had a good mopping in ages. I must say I did think £164 a night for the room was pretty steep.

Lovely place. Amazing staff. Great food and drink

No aircon, so very hot rooms during a hot summer
