Ringhotel Bundschu

Only hotel in the entire 2 weeks im Germany that screwed up the reservation. Room was on 1st floor facing the parking lot. Only blinds are metal hurricane shutters and with no A/C, room was uncomfortably hot.

Our experience at this hotel was disappointing. We are a well-traveled 60-year old couple and have never been treated so poorly by a hotel's staff in Germany. There was an event occurring the afternoon we arrived, and from the reception desk, to the evening in the restaurant, to the breakfast room in the morning, the owners and staff could not be bothered with us. The arrogant attitude in this hotel prevents us from recommending it to any traveler.

We visited this hotel again after our stay/wedding celebration 3 years ago and were not disapointed. The food as well as the service was very good, just as we remember it. Our compliments to the chef on a very good dinner. We will visit again the next time we visit family in Germany.

As I love the ringhotels and had to be around Mergentheim I opted for Bundschu. The hotel is located in the outskirts of the town so you have to walk a bit to get to the old town itself, just about 10 min. The hotel has been extended several times and you can see that, it is all halways and stairs to get to your room. I was in 209 and I had to climb several stairs, not a big problem for me but hey if you don't like to climb ask for a room in the newest building which does have an elevator. The room was quite spacious with a comfortable bed. the bathroom was big enough in size, a bit of a disadvantage was the very loud fan which started to run when you turn on the light. The big disadvantage was the very bad reception of the wifi in this room. was not able to get a steady connection over the wifi on both my laptop and my iphone. The breakfast was more then OK whith enough to choose from. Would I stay again? only when I could get a room with better wifi. On a business trip Wifi is a very important issue!

I stayed here on for a work related trip. The rooms were very clean, but definitely had a very traditional look (though I believe they may be updating based on a colleague's very different looking room). My room had some water damage visible on the ceiling and one wall, but it didn't impact my stay. There was also an outdoor balcony that was attached to the rooms on my side, which I'm sure would be lovely in the summer months (not as much in late September). Breakfast was very good and included in my stay and we also had dinner there one night, which was also excellent and very traditionally German. It did not have an elevator, so be aware of that if you have mobility concerns or pack heavily. Additionally, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the downtown area via a very beautiful park and church courtyard, if you're interested in exploring.

Love this hotel! Amazing service! Couldn't sleep anymore after experiencing the blood moon, went downstairs to the breakfast area at around 6am and they served me coffee way earlier than they would open the breakfast buffet. Wonderful experience!

We had nice a weekend here in order to go the Mozart opera in Weiksersheim Palace (a great fun production and the gardens at the Palace are a wonder). This is a family run hotel and was charming in its friendliness. Our room was decorated in quite garish colours (one of us liked it, the other wasn’t quite so keen) but the furnishings were all comfortable. There was a good mini-bar and plenty of information and amenities in the room and bathroom. The bathroom itself was big and functional. However, it was let down by the shower in the bath. The screen was not the correct size, with the result that the thing leaked copiously, making the floor very wet and soaking into the carpet outside. The cracking of the wooden door surround into the bathroom shows that this is a constant problem with the room. The breakfasts were good and the staff were cheery. The hotel shuts at about 11:00 pm or so, but you can get back in with your room key – by putting this into the slot next to the intercom button by the sliding glass doors. I mention this, because all the instructions for everything are in German (although I hasten to add that the staff have excellent English). The hotel is in fairly easy walking distance of the centre of town, although it’s not located in the most beautiful areas!

Nice is a very nice hotel. The only problem we had was with the room comfort. This was primarily because while we were there the temperatures during the day were in the range of 35 degrees C (about 95 degrees F). There is no air conditioning in the hotel and the hotel did not have fans to provide to guest to at least help move the air around. Now I will admit the hot weather is unusual for this area, but I would have thought they would have had fans since it does get hot here on occasion. Other than that this is a GREAT hotel with EXCELLENT food.

Staffs were exceptionally kind and friendly. Very clean and spacious rooms for a couple with a child. Had a dinner at the hotel retaurant and it was surprisingly good- good taste, good presentations... Would stay here again and definately recommand to friends. Can't ask anything more for the price I paid.

We stayed in this hotel just for one night. The rooms are quite spacious and very clean. As it is set on a quiet residential street, there is no noise at all. If you are staying here try to eat in the restaurant as the food is good and traditional. Most of the staff speak good English and it is worth asking for what is the special of the day. I will be returning again this year.
