Bariseele B&B

Enjoyable stay in Bruges. Very fine accommodation with a very helpful and welcoming host, Benny. Top quality room, bed and furniture. The food at breakfast was excellent too. The B&B is well placed for the centre which is just a short walk away.

Location was perfect. The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious. Breakfast was excellent. Benny was a perfect host. He recommended some excellent places to eat and even made reservations on our behalf.

It was spacious, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Benny and Paul are gracious, helpful with anything we needed, and a great resource of information. Breakfast was plentiful, with nice variety. They exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend their B&B.

It wasn’t an issue for us, but I will note the steep stairs to the uppermost room could be a problem for some people. There is a room on the first floor, though.

The property was spacious and very clean. Benny & Paul were very friendly and accomodating and the location was excellent. A lot of information was available for us both things to do and places to eat as well as transport options.

Location close to center of Bruge (on the north side a bit further from the train station). Breakfast was good and probably too much food for two people. There is a code to get into the B&B at night but each unit has its own physical key. Place is charming and has a neat history that is well preserved in the room. Host can be a little quirky.

Air conditioning only output heat which was bad given how hot it was getting. If your unit is on the ground floor, privacy feels a little less given a lot of activity happening right outside your bedroom window and the street. If it is hot, the window is open and you/they hear everything. Host can be a little too quirky.

With 7 days to explore Amsterdam and Brussels, my wife and I made a last minute decision to spend two nights in Bruges. We are so glad we did as it was the highlight of our vacation and the Bariseele was the perfect place to stay. The fantastic customer service started before we even arrived. Benny and Paul responded promptly to any questions via email and WhatsApp. They even helped secure dinner reservations at a wonderful restaurant that could accommodate my wife’s food allergies. This is often a stressful part of any trip to a new location as it’s difficult to know the local scene. So thankful that they could help and the restaurant (Forestière) was exactly what we were looking for - the food, atmosphere and location were all amazing. The service continued upon arrival. Benny offered to help us check-in late due to our arrival time. He then spent about 30 minutes chatting with us and offering local tips and recommendations. He completed the check-in by guiding us to our room, which was more than we expected. It was quite large, very clean and with all modern amenities. Our favourite part was the terrace doors that we could open and overlook the quiet street below and neighbouring church. We really enjoyed sitting in front of that balcony, sipping coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. Breakfast was waiting for us on a large tray outside our room each morning. A charcuterie style spread of breads, cheese, fruit, meats, yogurt, juice and coffee. Again, much more than we needed, but the perfect start to our day. Lastly, we can’t say enough about Bruges. I disagree with any comment about it being “too touristy”. There are a lot of tourists, but we didn’t see any tacky tourist shops or gimmicks. It’s a charming city that is very walkable and absolutely beautiful. Amsterdam and Brussels were both great places to visit, but Bruges was like a dream. I hope we get another opportunity to visit and I would absolutely stay at the Bariseele again - it’s the perfect compliment to a beautiful destination.

We stayed at the top-floor room with a view to Sint-Gillis Kerk. The room and the bathroom were very spacious, super clean, well-equipped and convenient, and with many windows allowing ample natural light in. Its location is strategic as it is in a quiet neighborhood, close to the main tourist attractions but at a favourable distance from any noisy coffee shops and restaurants. This, combined with a huge and very comfy bed, was a recipe for a good and restful night’s sleep! Having a hearty breakfast (prepared by our host himself!) by the window with a view at that gothic church was one of the most romantic parts of our visit there. Our host, Benny, is a wonderful person and having met him is part and parcel of our lovely stay there. We cannot recommend this place enough; it is a little gem!

The location of the properly is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk outside the busy area which meant it was nice and quiet but you’re close enough to get to everything very easily. The room was big and spacious with a comfortable bed Having the breakfast delivered to the room every morning was a real bonus. The food was great and plentiful to set you up for a day exploring Brugge. Some excellent recommendations for places to eat as well, definitely check these out before you book anywhere
