Nasama Resort

We had a lovely stay at Nasama Resort. Our room was very large, comfortable and very clean. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our terrace, and we loved the large swimming pool. Getting into Port Vila was easy on the bus.

The greatest disappointment was the staff. All the servers at the restaurants were gloomy, unwelcoming, and created a very uncomfortable and unpleasant atmosphere. I don't expect fawning service or fake jollity, but I have never seen staff who were clearly so unhappy and untrained for their jobs. We dreaded having to go to breakfast every morning, but there's nothing else nearby so we had no choice. Everything closes at 9, so there's not much to do in the evening. We couldn't even get a drink after that. Also, we had a room for three but only two chairs on our terrace.

Lovely staff, big comfortable room and balcony with cooking facilities. Hot shower and comfortable bed. Two restaurants on site and the breakfast offerings are SO GOOD (got caught out ordering breakfast from the specials menu - this wasn’t part of the included options). Great sized pool area and good swimming spot.

Not a bad thing but maybe needs a sign to say do t walk on the reef a - we were all walking on it and the only indication not to is a tiny sign on the reception desk.

Restaurant choices were both satisfactory. Menu choice was ok Restaurant staff were welcoming and pleasant Breakfast options were good. Room was good size A/C was good in room Bed was comfy

Pool area very open and exposed, not much areas of shade for everyone in the full heat of the day. Not enough areas away from the noise and splashing of kids to relax. No bar or food service near to the pool area - inconvenient. Beach swimming & snorkeling was very surgy and rough. Dated and damaged kitchen cupboards. Mold in shower recess. Long black hairs on bathroom floor on arrival to our room (not ours!) Booked for 3 adults but only 2 towel sets provided, 2 pool towels & 2 outdoor chairs provided. After the NYE dinner nothing offered other than fire on waterfront for guests which had gone out by 11pm! We booked this resort for NYE because it was indicated that something would be organised for NYE (not just a dinner that finished at 9.30pm - and the Threepigs closed and pretty much kicked everyone out at 9.30pm too. Pool tiles are slippery when wet and there were several pool tiles had come off and were laying on the deck. Accommodations grounds were very daggy looking with a dump visible at the back and ladders leaning against side of buildings, cleaning supplies left laying around on stairwells... just lots of visual stuff guests should not have to see in a resort on vacation. After waiting til 3.15 for access to our room on arrival, our room key could not be located for 2.5 hours after this.. very inconvenient as we had to wait at our room until a key was located. Not a good start to our stay.
