Gaia was as beautiful as all I read about! From the moment we arrived at Belize International Airport, we were greeted right away from a staff member of Gaia informing us of where our shuttle would be. Before you know it, we were in the mountains greeted at the front desk by Colby and Tony in the restaurant who was at our beck and call with every need we had. we had lovely dinners breakfast on the beautiful deck overlooking the waterfall, took the bikes out one day and found big rock waterfall, which was an amazing day. Bring your water shoes Had amazing dinners each night under the beautiful stars. What a perfect relaxing vacation.!!

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Gaia Riverlodge and very much enjoyed it. The location is truly spectacular, with the restaurant / bar area overlooking a beautiful valley / gorge - the early morning sun rising through the mist at breakfast was so memorable. The team in the bar and restaurant were very professional and friendly, particularly Freddy who took the time to know our names and chat. The food is quite expensive compared with other places we stayed in Belize but it is of very high standards, with much grown in the hotel grounds. There were some really nice touches like the option to have fresh coffee delivered to your room each morning. The swimming area at the base of the waterfall was a wonderful place to swim and relax. We did a nice walk along the river towards the Blancaneaux estate and also to Big Rock Falls and also drove to Caracol ruins from Gaia.

An outstanding property, with amazing service, exceptional food, in a breathtaking atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Nigel the Manager, ably assisted by Freddie & the team truly understand how to give a positive experience for all the clients visiting this magical destination. The personal touches together with Freddie always calling us by name, with a huge smile on his face made our 3 nights here so memorable. If you choose this place to stay, you have made a brilliant decision.

I paid more for a room next to the waterfall. The windows had no glasses, just screens. Therefore, the room was wet and cold. We had to use the hair dryer to dry everything at all times. The hot water was not coming out. They could not fix it. The concierge was a disaster. Organized poor excursions, and when we traded, he charged the same amount. Except for a couple of days everything else was not worth it. Tthey said they would refund two nights. They did not refund the complete two nights. The food was also bad

We have been very fortunate to stay in a number of hotels within the SLH collection and Gaia Riverlodge is right up there with the best of them. Gaia is a very special place. The setting is beautiful, the food is very good with c80% grown within the hotel grounds. The excursions are led by extremely knowledgeable local people and the hotel staff are amazing. Not to mention Coco, the hotel’s’ gorgeous black Labrador, who took us on a lovely walk. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Gaia, it is Belize at its very best.

Good food and quality of service. Nice environment. Drinks were meh and overpriced, especially once we found out that menu prices were in USD not Belize Dollars (bad surprise at the end. This was the ONLY place in the week of traveling in Belize where we found USD not BZD pricing listed on the menu...and yes you have to read the fine print but that is not the norm here). Oh and the road in was really bad and needs graded...

Gaia was a wonderful place to enjoy the jungle side of Belize. The staff was very responsive and assisted me with transfer from Belize City and back. There was an extra charge for this service. Check in was a breeze and the rooms are very comfortable. Hector at the front desk made arrangements for tours and spa and transportation, Freddy and Demor and Darren were perfect servers and went above and beyond! The resort is lucky to have them. The space down by the waterfall for sunning, dining and spa is so peaceful! Coco, the resort dog, accompanied me on a walk to Big Rock Falls too! It was a lovely stay. I cannot wait to come back some time.
