It was great. The waterfalls on site are stunning. The views from the restaurant are amazing and the staff was great. They were always friendly and attentive. The only complaint is that it needs some sort of AC for during the day. Fans weren't enough to keep the room cool in the hot season. Other times of the year I'm sure it's perfect. I'd still highly recommend it.

"Paradise in the forest"

10.0

The Gaia Riverlodge is perfection. Truly. This was a last minute planned trip, so I had a lot of questions about the tours to make sure I picked the best ones for my interests and booked them. They were very quick to respond with answers. The same with the front desk, they were wonderful. I booked the airport pick-up and drop-off. From the moment they picked us up at the airport until the moment they dropped us off, we had THE best experience. Everyone was so friendly, and I had fun chatting, getting to know them and the area. The lodge and the location is beautiful, from the decor to the natural spaces. I loved going down to the Five Sisters Waterfall at the end of each day to soak in the water then read and relax in the hammock. Every meal was delicious and the food is either from their organic garden or local farms. The chef and the kitchen are really talented (I especially loved their nightly focaccia bread!). We were so lucky to get two tours with Rudy who is a fountain of knowledge on the archaeological sites and introduced us to so many birds! The room was beautiful, spacious and clean with a deck to enjoy the gorgeous views and the many delightful sounds of nature. I hope to return to Gaia in the near future, it's a whole experience. Book your stay with them, you'll have zero regrets.

"Worth a visit"

10.0

I haven’t ever stayed at this resort, but we always have lunch or dinner there when in Belize (once a year). They use very fresh, organic ingredients and meals at all the restaurants are exceptional and varied. I highly recommend them. They have a cute gift shop too!

"Relaxing, Adventurous Rainforest Experience"

10.0

We came to Gaia to escape the busy streets of New York City and were more than satisfied with how remote and calm the setting was. The secluded nature of the hotel did not overshadow the level of comfort and luxury of the experience. The backdrop of the stunning rapids and rainforest provided a relaxing an experience as any beach vacation. We enjoyed discovering the various unique angles from which we observe and photograph the river, including our private porch, the multiple tiers of dinning areas, and comfortable seating located along the paths. Highlights of our dinning experience included the Sweet Corn Agnolotti, surprisingly refreshing cocktails made with peanuts from our server Freddy's farm, the best churros of all time (we have waited on line for hours in Madrid for a supposed competitor for this title, and trust us, there is no competition). We have never had a farm to table meal where we could walk right from breakfast to the garden where it came from. We chose a good mix of more active and more relaxed outings. The beautiful rock formations and history at Barton Cave are not to be missed. Likewise, the Mayan culture tour was a unique lens into the local way of life and we thoroughly enjoyed the pottery, tortilla, and chocolate making activities. Our guide, Rick, was full of valuable insights and made the drive entertaining and informative. If you are looking for a vacation that combines both adventure and tranquility, make sure to add to Gaia to your itinerary!

"Gaia Honeymoon"

10.0

The most secluded place I have ever stayed. Not another building in site from here. The service was perhaps more impressive than the location, especially Freddy!! He was the most energetic, smiley and helpful guy I've ever been served by. He made my wife and I feel right at home. We are trying to plan a return trip and we haven't even left yet. 10/10 would recommend

Gaïa is a dream. We loved every second of our stay. Massages at the waterfall, dinner, the amazing room, coffee service to your room in the am. The staff was so friendly and kind. They have literally thought of everything. Our only mistake was not staying longer.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

"GOAT Resort - where everyone knows your name!"

10.0

We started our vacation at GAIA Riverlodge and immediately put us in relax mode. The secluded property in the pine-tree rainforest perches over the Five-Sister Waterfalls providing a serene setting - well maintained grounds, delicious fresh food, and refreshing waterfalls are exactly as pictured, if not better. From the BZE airport pick-up experience with Rick, a welcome smile from Kobi at reception, to our first drink with Selvi and our meals served by Freddie and the others, and to retreat in our Riverside Suite - this place is the very definition of luxury. The suite was well sized, comfortable beds, fresh sheets, shower - no AC but fans are all you need. The beautiful harmony of the waterfalls and the jungle lull you to sleep. If this isn't your thing, there are earplugs! Going down to the waterfalls is a trek on its own but guess what - there's a small funicular available to remove this trouble. We loved being able to take bikes and go to Big Rock Falls on our own PLUS a bonus tour-guide, named Coco, the black lab-mix. The staff are superb and made every effort to know your name and what you like. We stayed for a couple of nights prior to our adventure to the rest of Belize and found we could have stayed at least 1 more night for more pampering! If you want to treat yourself and family to one of the best resort experience you could have in Belize, GAIA Riverlodge is truly the GREATEST Of All TIME. Perhaps a close 2nd is its Sister Resort in Ambergris Caye - but we didn't get to experience that this time!

Beautiful property! Very expensive but was very thankful I got at least one night experience at Gaia. Waking up to the 5 Sisters waterfalls is magical. Especially loved the garden and was very lucky to get a tour from farmer Pat. We also did a night jungle walk and we enjoyed that a lot as well.

"Awesome hotel with fantastic staff in a very peaceful location. A must stay in Belize!"

10.0

Certainly one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. The location is fantastic overlooking the river and 5 sisters waterfalls below. The rooms are delightful with each having their own terrace ensuring you are not overlooked by others. The restaurant overlooks the waterfalls and is a delight to eat in for dinner, breakfast and lunch. A great bar with very helpful staff and a great range of drinks and cocktails - try the Mayan Margarita, it’s awesome! All the staff are super attentive and you will be well looked after whatever your request. A must visit is to their organic garden tended by Sam who is obsessed with showing you around. All the veg, herbs etc for the restaurant and its sister hotel in Matadhica come here. The most peaceful stay.
