Hotel Oltremare

The list BBG on Hotels.com was misleading. The listing said we’d booked a room with a balcony. We got a room on the ground floor with a window facing a fence. The staff are unhelpful and inexperienced. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were hard. The air conditioner didn’t work. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in since my backpacking days 30 years ago. Avoid this one. There are plenty of better places to stay in the area. If it’s the only place available, take a bus into Rome.

Convenient hotel close to the beach and airport. Parking is a problem however.

This hotel is a bit aged but kept clean and well maintained. Because it is a hotel across the street from the beach you could tell the people who have stayed here were at the beach. But that is to be expected. Street parking is at a premium because of the beach goers who need to park too. It is a public beach and it is free public street parking. The restaurant within the establishment has fantastic food. Very authentic Italian. I believe the price we paid is a fair for the location and overall shape of the establishment. The staff were great too. I would return for sure. If I have anything negative to say it will be that the people in Europe seem to be smoking way more than they do where I come from. Being around smokers makes it a bit uncomfortable to enjoy a meal. It seems smoking while in the outdoor patio is allowed. But that is nothing to do with the staff or the establishment. It is just the way things are here in Europe I guess. In my town there is no smoking allowed anywhere on the patio of an establishment where other patrons could be impacted.

We arrived and there was no parking available even though it is listed as free parking. There was no one around at the front desk and finally found Paul who told us to park in a handicap spot and move it later when spots opened up, which we did. I said I would recommend as the location is ideal for early flight from Rome airport and there were nice restaurants nearby and the beach is across the street. Paul was very accommodating as the lift is very small and I am claustrophobic. He showed me the back way to the stairs (some construction under way but we maneuvered thru), and then he assisted me with getting in the lift and showed me it was quite safe and short ride to our floor. Our room was quite large for Europe standards but it could use some tlc...overall fine for overnight before flight.

It was a nice enough hotel. The bed was comfortable enough, the room was a little small, great for just a place to crash. The shower was really nice, and everything was clean. The best part was it’s close proximity to the beach, it was literally across the street. The biggest downside was the hallway smelled really strong of fried foods, they have a beautiful restaurant attached and for some reason the kitchen seemed like it exhausted into the residential hallway. Aside from that the smell didn’t seem to infiltrate the room.

Only stayed for a couple of hours. Reception was helpful. Just needed a place to stay before we flew out.

July/2017: Super cute hotel! Comfy room and bathroom. VERY close to the beach, literally across the street. You can find alot of places to eat. They have good breakfast and nice staff!

The clown who left a bad review had to be someone from a competitive hotel. If in this country again, would definitely stay at this hotel. Front desk was % stars. Breakfast was just fine, fresh pastries, juice, coffee, any type coffee all you want. Price very fair for what you get and across the street is a fabulous walk as long as you like. Hotel clean, has an elevator and looks like all rooms may have a view of the Mediterranean.

This was a great place, close to the airport, great view of the sea, only locals, no tourists. The room was nice, but the Ikea furniture was falling apart. FYI, eat or get a table before 4 pm otherwise the places all close and you'll be stuck with out a place to eat. Might be different in the summer.

Very clean room and bathroom but what surprised me was the restaurant !! Wow !! Thank you amazing experience , especially because I had as guest an old friend of ours.
