Guangzhou Royal Garden Hotel

Small townhouses immerse you in true atmosphere of old Chinese street like little miracle. You live in room which is without repair for a long time, but all the plumbing & shower are working properly. Rooms are shabby a little, but they're always clean. Bedroom is located on 1st floor, leaving room and bathroom are located on ground floor, so you stay in own tiny house :) Evening time is wonderful chance to take a break in your small courtyard sitting with a cup of Chinese tea. I really recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates the atmospheric & authenticity of place and who is willing to tolerate some discomfort due to absence of some European standards of typical city hotel.

Extraordinary house flat with small garden in busy district but flush toilet did not work, bathing area is too dark and water cannot be drained out. Table in living room is dirty.

Located in a nice place 15 walk from the metro station. Extremely Friendly Staff. Apart from the mosquito at breakfast area all thumps Up. the odd cockroach does turn up in the bathroom area.And great foot massage available tried and tested highly recommend it after hours of walking.

"Good atmosphere","Excellent service","Good value for money". I stayed in this hotel to attend Canton Fair. I was surprised to see how good this hotel was. Hotel is clean and my room was spacious with good amenities with a comfortable bed. Hotel is only 15 mins walking distance to Kecun Metro Station and less than 15 mins to Canton Fair by driving. The Party Pier Bars/Restaurant precinct and many local restaurants and shops nearby . Many foreigners stay in this hotel and have a good outdoor restaurant as well. If I ever go to Guangzhou I would not hesitate to stay here and highly recommend to future travelers.

Insect bites. Large roo but overall condition quite run down.

Although it is walkable from the metro station, the sidewalks are narrow and not in great shape. At one point there is no sidewalk and you are forced to walk on the narrow street. Therefore it can be an issue if you are carrying plenty of luggage. There are plenty of shops including a supermarket, and restaurants close to the hotel. I stayed in the garden unit and it has two floors. The bathroom is on the first floor. There was an issue with the wifi which was resolved fairly quickly once I informed the front desk. While most hotel rooms in China can accept any random card to keep the power on, this hotel room would only accept the hotel key card to remain powered on. The hotel room is clean and suitable for a business stay or other quick stays. It is definitely a great value for the price.

You need to pay for toiletries and the mini fridge is not cold it’s room temperature which is weird. Bathroom shower could be cleaner. Otherwise it’s a good budget hotel.

Pros: - 15 minutes with shuttle to the Canton Fair - Book the garden units, its awesome and comfy - Quiet and peaceful even though its centrally located - Hotel has a restaurant and spa, haven't tried it though - Great value for money - Close to the subway, walking distance - Walking distance to Canton Tower - Walking distance to Walmart, Starbucks etc - Halal Chinese restaurant about 200m away Cons: Seriously, nothing bad to say. Also cannot comment on breakfast as I chose not to have breakfast.
