Guangzhou Royal Garden Hotel

Overall ok. The front desk females staff not very friendly. But location is good just 10-15mins walk to mrt.

I stay there for its the comfort room, easy to get around, 10mins walk to subway, easy to get taxi, also a fairly nice chinese teahouse for cantonese breakfast. The location is near to the international expo center and some attractions. Just that its located on a side road, not easy to find.

Found this a very suitable hotel while attending the Canton Fair. They offered a shuttle, and despite other reviews, just make sure to arrive early enough to get a seat on the shuttle. Since it is a 'tucked away' hotel, they cannot use a large coach style bus, and rely on a larger van style bus. The room was very clean and housekeeping service was very friendly. Did a wonderful job. Staff spoke enough English to get by. There are a great deal of markets as soon as you leave the hotel, but even with them so close by, it was still a quiet hotel. A good value for your money and a pleasant place to stay. Especially if you are attending Canton Fair, this an affordable alternative.

Stayed here for my recent visit to the Canton Fair. Limited shuttle slots/schedule. We were a group of 8 and we were never able to take the shuttle as a group. The hotel only arranged for shuttles one at a time, never checking if the hotel guests' schedule preferences. There was a mix up on the room bookings and we ended up paying additional rmb50 per night for one of the rooms booked. Hotel staff need to improve their English esp. with a lot of foreign guests. Breakfast choices were limited as well as the small breakfast area. The wait staff don't really monitor which served food had run out and the diners have to be the one to inform them.

Good location

Staff spoke very little english. When going to China download Google's translator after it downloads be sure to download the offline core package this is a must or translator will not work after you get to China. Nice clean room. The bed are chinese beds and a little hard but these beds make my back feel better the next morning. If you don't want to eat at hotel there's plenty of places to eat near hotel. The metro is a little bit of a walk but taxies are cheap. I liked this hotel and would stay again. The price for a stay at this hotel makes it a great place.

First room had wet floors constantly. Second room better but stairs were dangerously steep and difficult to climb. Fridge didn't work in either room. No milk or milk powder for tea and tea was Chinese tea only.

A decent hotel. Staff all work and try very hard It is not a hotel I would bring my family to but if it's guys on a Buisiness trip it's perfect . Close to all things in Guangzhou. Metro 10 min walk. 15 mins from canton fair. Taxi cost 20rmb max. Night life close to party pier. Again 10 mins in taxi max 20 rmb Go to lucky jacks excellent entertainment and food good if you are western Would not hesitate to use again. Rooms in main hotel a bit better than garden rooms but all in all great value for money.

Dublex rooms are fine in a middle of a nice-set garden. Close to fairground if you are visiting some exibition and you care about time. Do not hesitate to ask for help if you need any, the staf is very helpful and freindly, hotel manager is always available and on the spot. I had problems with food, not familier with Chinese, it would be nice if more food veriety available. I did not use TV, all channels are Chinese. Laundry available, but little expensive. Many resturents are nearby, most are Chinese, but you can find some pizza, KFC is about 10 min walk. I used metro for transportation, only 5 in walk from hotel, and then you can go to any place in the city fast and cheap. Many banks also close, a Walmart store is also 5 min walk. Hotel provieds free transportation to fairground by suttle bus.

Nothing functions in that hotel and everything is terrible and I never seen this kind place in my life, and I don't know why Expedia not check the hotels and then sale them on the site or maybe I think Expedia doesn't care either.
