The Exeter Inn

For a 14th century public house it was spotless. Staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome, would happily stay there again.

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Our room was lovely and warm and there was a room kettle and generous supply of tea and coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious and on the day we left and had to get away early Nicky kindly made us bacon sandwiches to take with us. The Exeter inn is a lovely old pub. Stayed for 2 nights for a wedding nearby. Nightmare to get a taxi anywhere but the brilliant landlady Nicky stepped in to save the day and volunteered to give us a lift back late at night and again in the morning to pick our car up! Above and beyond! Room comfy and breakfast lovely. Had a few drinks and evening meal and very satisfied, can definitely recommend , mainly due to the landlady and the service and help offered!

Excellent Pub/Inn in Modbury that has good access to all of South Hamm’s area and range of restaurants in town. Good public parking across road from Exeter Inn.

Stayed at this lovely quirky old inn on our way to ferry port. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds very comfy. We ate evening meal in the pub downstairs service was friendly and food delicious. All in all a lovely place to stay .

Very 'atmospheric' as you would expect from a traditional pub in a building that has to be 200+ years old. Very pleasant staff and service. No car parking so you have to use the public long stay 200 yds away - fortunately a nice morning when leaving! No early breakfast but milk, juice, bread, etc made available for self service which was very much appreciated.

Lovely old building, very friendly and helpful staff, everywhere clean and tidy, very nice breakfasts. The twin beds and matrices in our room need replacing urgently and the door to the bathroom needs fixing as it it cannot be shut. In general the place looks a bit tired and could do with some internal decoration/painting etc.

Very nice place to be with family. Very good size room with bathroom. Very clean beds and bathroom. We definitely come back there one day. Xxx

14th century building. The staffs were very polite and nice, had a nice dinner and the breakfast was excellent. Stayed with my family, all were really happy.
