The Exeter Inn

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent but it would have been nice to have on site parking.

All very good and the staff were lovely.

Quirky and quaint

We stayed here for a week and really couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. An historical inn in a village full of history and a warm friendly atmosphere. There are only 4 letting rooms and the inn is the owners home. This is reflected in the feeling of home from home and the warmth of the welcome. All the furnishings and ornamentation are in keeping with the age and nature of the building. The inn itself is dog friendly and serves lovely pub food. The breakfasts are excellent. Vegetarians and vegans are catered for. If you are looking for pristine decor and formal service such as you get in a large impersonal hotel, then this may not be for you, but for a truly relaxing break in a setting full of character that represents very good value in the South Hams, then The Exeter Inn would be very hard to beat

This is a 14th century inn, what they didn't say was that was the last time it was decorated. The bed was just one turn from collapsing. The cereal (in boxes) out of date and tasted fusty and were soggy. The full English breakfast was the only good thing that I can say about it.....Sorry to say I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. It is the first time I have ever given such a negative report

Lovely place full of character, tastefully furnished. Very comfortable bed in a spacious, quiet room. Great breakfast and very good pub food for dinner. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and hope to return for another stay at some point.

Lovely stay at the Exeter Inn, vegan friendly, wonderful food and nothing is too much. Great value for money and a really good location. Public car park a 3 minute walk from the inn, so not a problem.

Fabulous quirky, original, authentic English pub with rooms. Great value for money, superb location. Very friendly and efficient staff. Lovely breakfast, which was obviously made with love.

The standard of the room was very poor. The windows either didn't open or paint was peeling off inside. It was all a bit shabby in general and not what was expected. The choice of breakfast for cooked was good but not for continental breakfast alas.
