The Exeter Inn

We stayed in the family room 2 adults two teenagers and it was very comfortable and plenty of space. The pictures don’t do it justice. Lovely high quality bed linen and fluffy towels and very clean. The beds are really comfortable and have very good mattresses. Breakfast really good and lots of it served in a lovely room. The hosts are really welcoming and friendly and work very hard. It is obvious they love what they do.

Why did they charge me twice when I only stayed one night?

The Inn is in the middle of the road. Parking is in the long stay carpark. The Inn is old, but the staff are lovely. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

I speak for myself and my wife, we were made very welcome by the whole family, nothing was too much trouble, the food was excellent value for money we are already recommending them to friends and family,we hope to be back soon for another visit.

The hotel is well situated, the owners and staff were brilliant. The breakfast was awesome. The room needs badly looking at. Its a low ceiling, I am 6'2" my wife 5 '10" . It has tiny windows one you cannot open, the other was metal and not very big. It was boiling and quite uncomfortable. One night was enough. It was extremely hot though. The door had to be really slammed to shut it from the outside and the bathroom door lock was poor, not an issue for us but others might not like it. The shower had hook on the wall, you had to hold it. There was a shower curtain or screen. Like the shower hook you could see where it was attached, but it was not there If it had not been so hot It might not have been so bad. The rest of the hotel was fine. Its only a case of snagging the problems. We would stay again though, as I said the owners and staff were fantastic, very welcoming as was the bar area and dining room. Drinks are very sensibly priced, especially when you consider its close proximity to Salcombe. Its difficult I guess to get issues repaired as its a listed building.

There are no ground floor rooms and the stairs up to bedrooms are steep, although manageable. Altogether I consider it is ok for one night. The rate for the room is acceptable for what you get.

The owners were really warm and welcoming to us and were really helpful. We loved the room which was really well presented and very comfy!
