Coral Beach Lodge

Homey kind of feel in public areas of hotel. Efficient and friendly staff with minimal fuss.

My family and I shared a private room in Coral Beach Lodge. We had a really nice time. The room was clean and comfortable. We only wish there had been better lighting in the room (during the day it's fine because of the the sun, but at night it is dim). There are shuttles in Port Douglas (cash only, $3/one way), so location doesn't matter much. It seemed like a good location though - apparently 15min walk from downtown. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We used the kitchen, which was fine. Overall a nice budget accommodation - clean, quiet, simple, and comfortable.

Paid a hotel price, as it was advertised as 3* facility, got a youth hostel room. No room service, air condition switched of from 07am to 5pm as felt temperature was 33 degrees. "Continental breakfast" consisted of toast bread, two dodgy toasters, a pack of open butter to be shared by everyone and instant coffee.

We enjoyed our stay here, friendly well informed managers, lots of young people staying so has the yha aspect,. We used the pool etc. we would stay again if we visited Port Douglas. Just out of main township.

We had a good time at Coral Beach Lodge. There were good self catering facilities as this is a Back Packers even though we didn't realise it when we booked. We found our room quiet and loved being able to sit outside. Staff were friendly and helpful and gave clear advice about avoiding crocodiles in nearby water ways.

Holes in window screens where mosquitoes got in. Run down. Very expensive for standard.

Our stay was perfect except for the a/c. The website say there is a/c but forgot to mention that it is automatically turned off at 7am so when you need it the most - from 7am to 10am (when it is getting warm and you are getting ready) - you actually do not have any a/c. On the contrary the a/c is on from 5pm to 7am everyday, which is not exactly needed because it is nighttime. The only good thing is that you can turn it off if you do not want it during the night. For the rest, we had a great stay: location, staff, cleanliness it was all great!

Very comfortable place to stay. We enjoyed it so much our first night that we stayed again a few days later. The pool is nice. It's a hostel environment with a hostel price, but the room is very comfortable and doesn't feel like you're staying in a dirty hostel. The only complaint is that they turn the A/C off in the room from 7am-5pm, making the room pretty rough during those times.

Our unit was clean and basic. the bathroom and bed linen fresh, and the beds extremely comfortable. We like the idea of the table and chairs at the back of each unit. It's so lovely to sit there in the afternoon and relax with a drink. We also enjoyed having breakfast there in the morning.Despite it being November and quite hot, we found that the area outside was quite pleasant. the camp kitchen was accessible , so we were able to cook our meals. it's a very short walk to the bottle shop and there are two restaurants around the corner. this is the second time we have stayed there. We will definitely stay there again.
