Basic accommodation great service - no onsite parks left parked on shoulder outside property no problem. Room smelled of cigarette smoke.

Wotif advertising was incorrect: there is no breakfast supplied.

We booked and in the description it stated that a free breakfast was provided and we thought great that means we can just relax and not bring our own food. Unbeknownst to us this was not the case, when we fronted for breakfast in the morning the guy at the front desk looked bewildered at our question and stated they hadn’t had it for a while. When I explained that it was on the description of the room he stated he had asked for it to be removed and that he had no control over what obscure booking companies put on their websites which I found to be extraordinary. He offered a Luke warm apology and didn’t offer anything else which I found to be Surprising and disappointing. The room and in fact the whole places covered in mould, mildew and a build up of dust and grime. The gardens we unkempt and unloved with random junk scattered throughout. The rooms facilities were basic and outdated and the myriad of water stains belied no doubt a raft of other problems. In summary, as seasoned travellers and locals to the cairns area wee often overlooked these minor imperfections but the one thing we can’t overlook is the poor attitude of the managers of the facility and the lack of hospitality. Needless to say we won’t ever be coming back.

The place is very clean and well organised. You find everything that you need and it's not far to the town center. The Manager was extremely friendly and helped me a lot with organising my upcoming stay at Cape Trib. He knows everything about the area :) The room was great with a nice and clean bathroom and air-conditioning system. I would always go back!

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the accomodation to others. Staff were friendly and helpful at both the quick and easy check in and the complimentary continental breakfast. Our private en suite room was clean and bright but marked down slightly due to inefficient a/c. Otherwise a very good stay

Super friendly welcome at the desk (loved the little bearded dragons!), followed by discovering a clean and comfortable room with our own bathroom, which was much appreciated. Great to have on-site parking. The site itself was attractive too. Good value for money! Only downsides were that it was a little way out of town (although some people might see this as a big plus) and that the kitchen had been left in a worse mess than my university kitchen, with every sink and surface piled high with dirty dishes etc. Pretty grim. Decided to eat out, as we would not have been able to cook there.

Worst place. rooms and toilet dirty. even towels were smelling bad.

i stayed only 1 night in a private room which was clean and comfortable. lots of common areas to relax along with luggage storage, if arriving early. staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. hostel was very well organised without overtop rules written everywhere. breakfast was great. bonus points for mocconna coffee 🙂

Great place! The owner or manager is super friendly and gladly gives you all info about things to do. The property is big and spacious and quiet in the night, rooms are clean and it's a perfect location if you're planning on going to the reef as it's only about 10 min walking to the marina, there are cool animals in the reception and breakfast included is always a plus:)
