Property is in the historic center of the city which reminded us of a medieval European city, complete with cobblestone streets. Shopping and dining is all around and the area is walkable even at night. Taxis are readily available. The hotel is a historic building with character it's wood finishes are very well maintained. We had a relaxing stay and will stay here when next in Cuenca.

Of a three week trip to Ecuador, this was my favorite hotel! This hotel was great! The manager, Henry, spoke English well and was very attentive to our needs for our 4 day stay. The breakfast was excellent each morning. One evening we ate at the on site restaurant and ouor food and service was again great! I loved the unique old building. there are lots of exquisite touches. I also loved the decorating. Our room was hand painted with floral designs on the walls. The only downside was that on Friday and Saturday nights there was a loud band playing somewhere up the street. They played until about 2 am. Even with the windows closed we could hear them.

The employees were very nice. The breakfast was good with verity. On the down side the water is chilly, probably 100 degrees. And the arranged a ride from the airport to the hotel for $10. When I left i took a taxi to the airport and it was $3.
