The Northey Arms

The property is in a good location and there is some friendly members of staff.

We reserved what was advertised as a 'dog friendly' room. I made sure to double check this too by emailing the property via booking.com and it was confirmed that the room was dog friendly and there would be no extra charge. On arriving to the property, we were informed that the room was in fact not dog friendly, however, as the hotel was fully booked they 'allowed' us to stay in the room. We were told we would have to pay £20 per dog due to extra cleaning fees, despite this not being advertised on the property listing and having it previously confirmed that there would be no extra charge. The first member of staff who communicated this to us was apologetic and friendly. However, the second staff (potentially a manager?) was rude and dismissive. She noted that they would be within their right to refuse the booking, despite it being their error. Unfortunately, this made us feel very unwelcome. The room was OK. It was very warm and there wasn't a fan or an option to open a window due to it being patio doors. There was also no fridge, which meant we had to store our food outside overnight. We were waiting an hour for breakfast the next day. Overall, not worth the £280 for a one night stay!

Staff were very helpful, room was nice, warm, clean and comfortable, would definitely stay again. Meal was exceptional , best pub food we had for a long time.

The staff was excellent, so was the food. The room was comfortable.

There was a railway straight behind the rooms, and the trains started to pass quite early in the morning. Earplugs 👍🏻

The friendliness of the staff was better than I've experienced previously, their attention to detail made our stay very special.

Nothing to dislike at this establishment

Room and bathroom were very good, faced a busy road but sound wasn't bad with the windows closed.

Dined there on the first night, service was pretty good until we were asked if we wanted the sweet menu, replied yes but never got it. Waiters were too busy laughing and joking by the desk. On the last morning, a peice of gravel stone approx 10mm in size was found in the breakfast, staff apologised but it was our last morning. Could have considered a goodwill gesture against the room cost.

Super vriendelijk personeel. Wij hadden de kamer met het dakterras, dit als erg fijn ervaren. Gewoon lekker rustig een boekje lezen in het zonnetje. Locatie mooie uitvalsbasis voor oa Castle Combe, Bristol en Bath. Gratis en voldoende parkeergelegenheid. Ontbijt a la carte, maar gewoon erg lekker.

Het hotel wordt druk bezocht, ook door plaatselijke bevolking. Gezellig, maar soms ook druk.
