"Schönes altes Hotel neben der Abteil"

Großes Herrenhaus im Baronial-Stil, großes Zimmer mit großem Bad, alles, was man von einem Hotel in einem alten Gemäuer erwartet. Nicht top-modern. aber sauber und stilvoll. Dazu ein gutes Restaurant und Parkplätze direkt vor dem Haus.

Wir hatten Blick auf die Dryburgh-Abbey – im Mai war das Mauerwerk der direkt benachbarten Abtei zwischen den Bäumen auch zu erahnen:-) Davon abgesehen: Alles bestens!

Von außen sehr schönes Landhotel inmitten der Natur. Sehr ruhig und toll für Wanderungen. Hervorragendes Abendessen. Wunderbarer viktorianischer Frühstücksraum. Guter Wasserdruck in der Dusche sowie funktionierender Handtuchwärmer - alles in GB nicht unbedingt selbstverständlich.

Zimmer sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen mit welliger/ abblätternder Tapete sowie teilweise altem Teppichboden, der in den Ecken abgewetzt war. Zimmer könnten etwas mehr mit Liebe zum Detail und funktionaler ausgestattet sein, z.B. Vergrößerungsspiegel und Kosmetiktücher, es gab Linoleum im Bad statt Fliesen. In den Ecken/ auf den Regalen hätte man auch mal Staub wischen können, und auch die Deko aus Stoffblumen war recht alt und staubig.

"Mooi hotel , oude glorie"

Ruime kamer, groot bed met een goed matras, Schots ontbijt

Vergane glorie, achterstallig onderhoud, slecht schoongemaakt, spinnenwebben met vliegjes, stoffige tafel randen, vieze bruine drab bij het indrukken van de dispencerknop doucheschuim. Oude menukaarten in de welkomstmap met afwijkende prijzen en keuzes tov de bistro.

"Not for me!"

Positives Staff, beautiful location, parking. Negatives Really tired hotel, our room was mucky. The doors needed washing, the ceiling was full of spiders and the window lock was broken. All these things should be addressed when the room is cleaned. We paid £140 B&B and if was not worth it.
