La Quinta by Wyndham Dickinson

Very nice place. Good location. The lady working there was more concerned with her personal phone call.

The only reason I gave this place a 2 was because of the somewhat comfortable bed and the shower head was pretty decent, otherwise no bueno. The place desperately needs updating. The carpet in our room had a hole in it, and I didn’t feel comfortable walking barefoot on it. The wood on the vanity in the bathroom was faded and worn. The sheets did not fit properly on the bed. We had 2 dogs with us, and charged us an extra $50 + tax. The woman who checked us in acted like I was bothering her. Although she quickly checked us in I felt like she really couldn’t care less if I could hear everything she told me regarding the check out time, breakfast and how to get to our room. As we walked by later we noticed she was sitting in front of a fan glued to her phone oblivious to anything going on around her. If you don’t like your job, find something else that gives you a sense of purpose. You work in a service industry and I’m sure La Quinta/Wyndham wouldn’t like employees treating guests that way. Anyway, on our way to our room we noticed several hand written signs regarding out of order issues. They looked like they had been there for a while. One was in the elevator telling guests not to use that elevator to the 3rd floor. Another was on the ice maker on our floor. Breakfast was ok. They had cut up hotdogs and premade omelets, pastries, bagels, waffles, yogurt and some oranges/apples. Not impressed, won’t stay again.

We booked for its proximity to the national park which was fine. The front desk staff were very nice. Our room was ok. We both had upset stomachs after breakfast on our checkout day, and the housekeeping staff knocked repeatedly on our door, even though there was a “do not disturb” sign out, and it was only 9:30. We had done a mobile checkout for 11.

Check in was okay with the front desk but she seemed more interested in getting me done so she could finish whatever she had been doing.

Counter person busy with a personal call that she didn't disconnect from was not very welcoming nor did she explain services. Before we got away from desk she was back on her call apologizing to her acquaintance.
