Hotel Royal Victoria, by R Collection Hotels

The hotel is in an excellent location with beautiful views and pool that made our stay memorable. We were celebrating our honeymoon, and the complimentary water, treats, and champagne waiting in our room made us feel genuinely welcomed upon arrival. Breakfast was included and was a nice treat. The room service team was consistently attentive and efficient throughout our stay, and the overall property itself is beautiful and well maintained.

Unfortunately, our room was located on the first floor near the staircase leading to the restaurant, bar, and pool areas. Music from these areas could be clearly heard from the room, even while lying in bed. During our first two nights, the music woke us up around 5am, which was not the relaxing experience we expected during our honeymoon. We raised the issue with the hotel and requested a room change. While the staff instead offered a complimentary aperitivo and assured us the music issue would be addressed, the noise continued, with music still audible late into the night and beginning again around 7am. A room change would have been a much better solution. To add to the frustration, the complimentary aperitivo that was offered as compensation was mistakenly charged to our bill at checkout, requiring additional follow-up to have it removed. Overall, there were some wonderful aspects to our stay, but the noise issues and handling of the situation left us with a mixed impression.

Excellent hotel! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is in a great position on the lake and the views are absolutely stunning! The food in all of the restaurants was delicious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There were also some unexpected bonuses, such as a free bottle of prosecco in our room on arrival and free tickets to the botanic gardens at Villa Cipressi. We loved the hotel and Varenna so much we didn't want to leave! I highly recommend this hotel, thank you for such a lovely stay!

Our room was on the side of the building next to the church and the bells started at 7am every day. But apart from that everything was amazing

Excellent service! Everyone that we dealt with was aiming to please and make our experience better. The views, you can't ask for better Lake Como views, from the morning, day, evening and night it hit. Food was also amazing from breakfast to dinner we never had a bad meal.

This is probably more of a me problem for not doing enough research on the area. The price and room size just didn't line up for me. Probably because it's a Como thing. The noise level, hearing people slamming doors or dragging furniture across the floor from the early morning until the wee hours of the night definitely put a sour note in my mouth, i love quiet when it comes to a higher tier hotel and I didn't get it here.

We had a wonderful stay and would gladly return. The highlight was the breathtaking view from the breakfast balcony overlooking Lake Como—an unforgettable way to start each day. The breakfast offerings were excellent, with a wide variety of delicious choices, and the quality of the food exceeded our expectations. Most importantly, the staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. A beautiful property in a spectacular setting. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lake Como.

The hotel was absolutely perfect for our three night stay. Everything you need was on offer and the pool was simply the best.
