Newcastle Jesmond Hotel

I was disappointed with the hotel. I expected shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom which is standard in most hotels these days. Also there was no complimentary water in the room. I was given a bottle on request. Overall I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. I didn’t have breakfast as the ambience of the restaurant didn’t feel right.

I’ll keep this short and as sweet as I can! Stay clear of room 105 at least!!! 1. No hot water 2. Cold room from 8pm as heating must be turned down 3. Freezing cold in bathroom (like poltergeist cold!) 4. Water doesn’t drain in bathroom from shower 5. Toilet that keeps dripping (so hear all night) 6. Paper thin walls (hear neighbours whispering, not kidding!) 7. Blocked drainpipe overflowing all night (dripping onto flat roof, so constant waterfall you could hear all night) 8. Window not sound or air proof (curtains blow!) 9. Kettle replaced as not working quickly though Reported water problem about 9pm on first night. Then 9:30 then 10:30. Told will be fixed by 1100 and wasn’t. So fed up as no sleep, cold shower so we didn’t stink. Contacted booking.com who were great. Hotel offered refund for second night (as we wouldn’t be there). How cheeky so said I want total refund as hotel room not ffp Had to share to warn others. Christian the manager tried 2 different rooms on the first night but both with cold water still so no point in moving albeit may have been quieter rooms! Over to booking.com and jesmond hotel now to sort out first night problem with refund as just not fit for purpose where we were. Spoke to a guest on way out who said their water was fine so an isolated problem for sure. And to cap it all we are knackered and made a 200mile journey here for mums golden wedding anniversary so will be leaving a night early after the event now just to go home to comfort…… thanks jesmond hotel for making it memorable. Now it’s going to cost us £10 each to change the rail tickets 🤣 The gift that’s keeps giving

I'm so disappointed with this hotel....i booked to stay at this hotel with a friend...we had 2 separate rooms... unfortunately my partner on that Monday had a heart operation....so obviously I contacted the hotel through the email that was sent to me..... i followed the link to cancel my booking... explained what had happened... that i had to cancel... which the manager acknowledged and was sorry to hear about my partner.... i then saw on my bank account that i was charged... rang the hotel....the manager denied i emailed him..sent him our correspondence... totally ignored me.....😡😡

Really good hotel, outstanding value for money, the service was first class even cooked my breakfast one hour earlier than the official start time, can’t fault the place at all

Old and tired, bathroom smelled of damp and door was mouldy. No shampoo or shower gel provided. Location was good and

I was travelling alone and felt safe and looked-after at all times. Room was small and immaculate, with everything I needed in it. Great breakfast and friendly and welcoming staff

When I booked this hotel I specifically filtered out hotels without parking so was disappointed to arrive to a full car park. Staff informed me of where we could park the car nearby on the street for free but this was also full so we had to drive further. Very inconvenient especially with heavy luggage and considering it was booked with the promise of free secure parking! There's no lift which also made it difficult with heavy luggage. The room was cosy but very small. No bathroom products provided. The bed wasn't overly comfortable but not the worst I've slept on, Wifi was ok. Quite a few bars, shops and take aways nearby. The room was very clean and pleasently decorated. Staff were friendly. I'd stay again but only for a 1 nighter.
