Newcastle Jesmond Hotel

Great service from start to finish, taxi service took a long time to arrive which was recommended and advertised on the grounds!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and had to request a different room for the 2nd night. Our room on the first floor seemed to be ok at first glance but the longer we were in the room the more issues we found. The drain in the wet/bathroom was blocked which resulted in the water running outside the bathroom door and pooling at the door and not draining away. This made the bathroom floor very slippery and dangerous. The floorboards in every room seem to be very noisy. Anyone who moved at any time of the morning or night was easily heard as this was so loud. This resulted in a very early wake-up call which was not wanted. The walls between rooms are also very thin as we could clearly hear the conversation of the couple in the room next to us at 6.50 am and they were just talking normally and then they put their TV on which sounded like it was in our room as it was that clear even although the volume was not even loud. We also noticed the small double bed was very noisy whenever we moved. This seemed to be the fact the bed has had extra MDF frame added to the outside of it which was very poorly put together and the screws were sticking out the side dangerously by more than an inch which made this easy to catch on. The carpet in the room could also do with a deep clean as my new white socks were very dirty after only 1 hour of wear in the room which was disappointing. All of this was reported to the reception after our first night and the staff did what they could and managed to get us moved to another room on the top even although they were fully booked which was appreciated. This helped slightly with the noise of the floors from above but even in the new room the floors were still noisy and in both rooms, the toilet seat was broken. Parking is only 6 spaces so hard to come by. There is also no complimentary shower gel or shampoo given in any of the rooms. Both rooms we were in had an iron, iron board, and hairdryer which all worked and were clean.

Really nice hotel for our overnight stay. Very good COVID safety measures throughout the hotel, including hand sanitiser and requirements wear face masks whilst walking around hotel. Breakfast was all prepared to order and was excellent. Hotel is situated in a nice area just outside the centre and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Staff were really friendly and service was good as well.

Comfortable and clean. Only feedback i would give is that it would have been nice to have some shower gel in the bathroom.

A little bit rough, shower room felt more like a prison cell. Dated decor, missing lightbulb to bedside lamp. Generally clean and staff polite.

We came here for our anniversary and was very impressed with the place and the surrounding amenities. We both felt comfortable and welcome and we'll looked after during our stay. We will definately be returning.

Excellently located for an evening in Jesmond this hotel looks like it has been recently refurbished to a very good standard. The room was small but perfectly functional. The bed was comfortable and the wet room clean and well maintained. Overall a very nice little hotel and great value.

I had to come to Jesmond unexpectedly as my son was taken into hospital, so was a last minute booking ! The hotel was clean, warm and welcoming. The staff were so friendly and polite esp Kim Georgia and Mohammed for which I thank them all!
