Nice place would recommend

Wonderful establishment, brilliant friendly and helpful staff. Food was excellent. Alan was a great host. This was our second stay at the Crown Inn, on arriving home we immediately booked again for a 2 night stay in mid December.

Old and tired property without the charm, could be pretty but needs a deep clean and attention to general maintenance wouldn’t go a miss.

We turned up quite late for check in but despite this, and even though the pub was busy, the staff were very helpful and polite. The room was clean, reasonably spacious with plenty of tea, coffee, towels, toiletries etc, and the bed was very comfortable after a long ride! The bathroom was clean and tidy. Downstairs had a great selection of drinks and the food menu was comprehensive. Breakfast was all fresh produce, great sausages and bacon along with tea, coffee, juice etc. Great history in this pub as well. Criticisms, hmmm. If I wanted to be really, really picky, the bedroom window was a tad hard to open. Seriously, thats it. Keep up the great work Alan, we intend to visit again soon. Highly recommended. Food was great. Staff were very attentive. Room could do with a little attention. Fabulous village. Good atmosphere in the bar.

Nice and friendly accommodation

Generous sized room, the en suite was a good size & well provisioned. Comfortable firm bed, warm and pleasant place to be. There was a useful desk & chair, but no bedside tables (or lamps) which would have been a good addition. The TV was incredibly small, adequate but not comfortable to watch. The pub is clearly a focal point for the local community which was great to see, very friendly in the bar & the food was excellent with a wide selection available. The beer garden is a focal point, really well laid out & even an outside pool table. The downside to this is it's busy & quite loud late into the evening. It's a pretty basic level of accommodation, clean and comfortable but certainly no frills so you seem to pay the M4 corridor premium but without the associated high quality. If the price was set a fraction lower it'd match up better.
