"Worst room I've ever seen, period."

2.0

We traveled by motorcycle to Alcoa, TN to ride the 'Dragon'. We had found hotel coupons in a travel guide in the city. It was pouring the rain and we had to have somewhere to day. When we arrived, the clerk wouldn't accept the coupon, stating that they were nearly full and don't honor coupons then. So, we paid full price, and when we got to the room, it was unbelievable. I mean, unbelievable. The room smelled horrible, the A/C unit cover was falling off, all the lamp shades were difference, most of them broken, there was white 'something' that had run down the wall behind the nightstand, the cloth on the headboards was ratty and torn, the bathtub had burns all the way around it, there was a large hole in the wall behind the door...and a huge hole in the ceiling that appeared to have once been a vent, when you turned the water on, on the vanity, it shot everywhere, the inside of the door was extremely filthy, had never been cleaned.....we had serious concerns about our health...but HAD to have a place to sleep. We checked for bedbugs, and found none.... I know this sounds horrid.....but I have pics to prove what I say....Do not stay here ! Yes, I know many of you will say....why did you stay? Simple answer is, as a biker, and being raised in the country, I'm not unaccustomed to sleeping in some pretty unsavory places.... It was pouring the rain and we didn't have $125 to stay somewhere else....

"Worst place in the area."

2.0

I stopped at the Alcoa Inn since we stayed there a few years ago. I paid for the room and was horrified by the first room, I went to the desk and asked for another room and it was full of bugs. I refused to stay in a bug infested room, the woman at the desk refused to give my money back at first, but I complained so loudly she finally returned my money and I left.

"Bedbugs!"

2.0

Got a room at a great price and it looked comfortable enough. The lady at the front desk was courteous and helpful. They have smoking and non-smoking rooms, good parking for trucks and internet connection was good. But!!! As I was getting ready to sleep, I saw a bug near the bed and thought it was a beetle (which would have been bad enough), but in the morning, I was covered in bedbug bites. Totally gross and extremely uncomfortable! It's cheap, but you get what you pay for. Would definitely NOT stay here ever again!

"The Worst!"

2.0

My sister, my son, and I got one room and my niece and her two boys stayed in a non smoking room. The non smoking room was $8 more because it was in the "better" part of the motel. We got my niece's stuff into her room and got her boys settled into bed. My sister, son, and I went to our room on the other side of the motel. When my sister opened the door roaches ran down the far wall. My son went into the bathroom and roaches scattered from the bathtub. There were roaches in and on the AC / heat regulator. My son had to put his shirt over his face and stand outside because it smelled like they had just used a roach bomb. We had to stand outside because of the smell while my sister went to the office to change rooms. When my sister complained of the roaches and chemical smell the owner didn't act surprised and wasn't even concerned. When my sister told him we wanted a better room next to my niece he wanted to charge her the extra $8!! She said "Ok, we'll just stay across the street" then he said he'd give us the room for what we paid originally. The second room was ok but dirty. When we sat on the ends of the beds the head of the bed would flip up (?). The next day as we were leaving my niece showed us her bathroom where it looked like someone spray defecated on the wall next to the toilet. This was the worst motel I have ever stayed at and I travel quite a bit. The roach infestation was just so bad. I'd never recommend this place to anyone.

If your a lite sleeper this plCes is not for you. Very close to landing strip. Other than that it is ok. Breakfast was ok. No meat, eggs, gravy, biscuit, doughnuts. Coffee staff was very friendly. Bring a fan to help drown out the noise of the planes landing and taking off in the middle of the night.

"The hotel name belies the reality. One of the worst hotels I have stayed in."

2.0

Had travelled most of the day from Las Vegas & was tired. Arrived at hotel just after midnight. Night staff member was very polite & showed us were to park car safely. Went to room. It stank of stale cigarette smoke despite us booking a non-smoking room. I went downstairs & spoke with reception staff member, who once again was very polite. He agreed after some discussion that we be upgraded to a jacuzzi non-smoking room without penalty however this smelled of stale cigarette smoke. Would not recommend this hotel as its obvious that rooms now classified as non-smoking were previously smoking rooms. Perhaps changing all bed linen, bedding & carpeting may eliminate the stale cigarette smell.

"What a travesty in names"

4.0

I checked in here late afternoon, after a long ride and was tired and not able to ride much farther. Asked for a ground floor room so I would not have to carry my kit far, and a none smoking room. Was told it was not an issue as they had a few rooms empty. Well.... The room smelled like the old bar smells of my youth, stale beer and cigarette smoke. Had to park and walk almost 50 yards to get from the parking lot to my room. Started the A/C unit and it smelled of mold and old filters, so had it on high and the windows open and the bathroom fan on, went and got some food, came back about 45 mins and it was almost ok. But it was only for one night so I sucked it up. oh and the pool water was a really nice shade of scum green.

"Better then I expected"

6.0

At first I didn't know what to expect because of other reviews. We ended up here not by choice but I'm glad we did. First of all the front desk ladies were awesome. We were able to see a room before we checked in. I was surprised at how clean the room was after reading some bad reviews. Yes it is an older hotel and there is wear and tear, but not as bad as the hotel we came from. I talked to the front desk and she said that it was under new management and they are trying to update it as soon as they can.
