Hotel Albemarle Galapagos Beachfront

Lovely place, staff, location. We enjoyed our stay here. Room was comfortable, pool a nice area to relax, rooftop terrace had a great view. Near all the restaurants and tour shops. Beach was good. Staff responsive and helpful. Would stay here again.

Great hotel right at the beach with a wonderful garden and pool! Spacious room, delicious breakfast, friendly service, super quick laundry service! We are sorry that we missed the cocktails of Daniel! Roof terrace adds to the atmosphere!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend it with a few caveats. PROS: Location was ideal--right on the beach with great views and one block from the town center, which had numerous restaurants, tour offices, a small neighborhood grocery store, bike rentals, wetsuit and snorkel rentals, and a couple of t-shirt/souvenir shops. The hotel has air conditioning and ceiling fans. They had 4 water tank stations throughout the hotel with filtered water where we could refill our water bottles. The pool area is beautiful. The folks at the front desk (Gabby and Daniel) were friendly and helpful. Gabby told us the penguins usually swim in the morning around 9 or 10 in front of the hotel. Sure enough, we were able to get in the water the next morning and had penguins swim by! The beach in front of the hotel rarely had any people on it (end of December). CONS: The bathrooms have a small window at the top that is screen only (no glass), so you can hear everything outside. Every morning, the garbage truck came by playing music. If you are sensitive to noise and want to sleep in, this probably isn't your best pick. If you decide to stay here on Dec 31, know that the town really parties with LOUD music all night until 5:00AM. There were several wifi networks available, but they weren't reliable in our (2) rooms. We had to go to the lobby or the pool for decent connections for e-mail and Whatsapp. There were tiny ants in both of our rooms (not sure if that's a common thing on the Islands).

The property and people were great. Their is a community soccer field adjoining the property on the side I stayed on and my room has an open screen window. Their were soccer games and music often in the mornings and one night until midnight, so it was noisy.

Great staff service

Overall this place was nice and we would stay there again. However, there were a couple of things that we would say, could make things a bit better. First, WiFi in the rooms. They had WiFi in the common area but when you’re on vacation and planning, sometimes you just want to lay down or post some pictures. Second, the VIP breakfast we received (for one day only) was subpar and it’s not worth the $12 per person/per day they charge. You can get a better breakfast somewhere else. Lastly, they have the hot tub as an amenity but they no longer have it. Bring it back! It would have been amazing to relax in there after the Sierra Negra hike.

My husband and I loved this property, staff and the island. Food was great, room was great! Excellent experience. Beautiful setting located right on the ocean. Bath and bed linens were top quality! Will stay there again.

Best hotel on the island. Wonderful location, amazing view from the beach facing rooms. Incredibly helpful staff. I booked for 2 nights and then extended for a full week. Definitely a highlight of my 4-week stay in the Galapagos. The staff can make recommendations and assist with whatever you need. Bicycle rentals, laundry, tour offices all nearby. Do not hesitate to book this property. Isla Isabela has a laid back vibe but plenty to do. Giant tortoises on the bike path, and marine iguans everywhere.

Highly recommended. The hotel has great service. The staff is really amazing and accommodating. Would definitely stay again.
