Baan KanTiang See Villas (2 bedroom villas)

We had a lovely time here. The villa was gorgeous with stunning views. Our host Jobee was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We were so looking forward to this villa after travelling around Malaysia and Thailand for a number of weeks. About 1 week before arriving, we were informed their visa machine was broken and we would need to pay cash. Having paid one nights deposit with our card already, for a one week stay, we said we do not feel comfortable paying such a large remaining amount in cash as we are 71 years old and didn’t feel safe doing so. Upon arrival, we were informed their visa machine was still broken, so cash or PayPal was our only option. Being unfamiliar with PayPal and not carrying enough cash, we said we would then only stay the one night for which we paid and then try to find a last minute accommodation elsewhere. We were then told we were not welcome to stay only one night, that it had to be the full week, for cash. We asked for our deposit back, and would search out accommodation elsewhere as we were very tired after a 2 1/2 hour wait. We were denied our deposit, at which point, being tired and exhausted, chose to take the loss and move elsewhere. Shame on you, BAAN Kan Tiang villas.

We were very excited to stay in these villas at Kantiang Bay 6 months ago when we found them and booked . While travelling we were informed by them that their credit card machine didn’t work and we needed to pay by cash or PayPal which we responded by asking them to keep in touch and were clear we were most comfortable with using credit cards . There was no more mention of this and we arrived to being told the credit card machine was still not working and as we were not ok with using PayPal we would have to be driven to a bank many kilometres away. We had paid a deposit and suggested we would stay one night as we were exhausted. They refused this suggestion and by then we were looking for another hotel which one of the staff helped us with but refused to give us our deposit back and was very rushed to get us on our way . After this to our shock the listing was put on booking.com which would have taken a credit card. This was an emotional, disappointing and stressful experience and is a warning to others to be prepared for this situation if you book here .

This villa is amazing the pictures really do not show how amazing it is, I couldn’t believe the villa was all ours it was So huge with amazing views, the host Jobee was amazing organising scooters and taxi’s to and from the port for us. I extended our stay by an additional two days. The second bedroom is like a second house with double bed and en-suite with an outside shower. The pool has great views over the mountain to the sea. As does the villa amazing views from every window. The hill to get to the villa is quite steep but is less than a ten minute walk away , we paid for a taxi from the village back mainly due to the heat this cost 150TB. The village has a number of restaurants and bars which we tried. There is a 7/11 in the village also which is convenient. 10 minutes drive from the villa is an ethical elephant sanctuary which is amazing , also the pier where you can see the natural mangroves and if you’re lucky the driver will stop for you to feed the monkeys. Old town has a lovely charm and you can hire boats to visit the islands . Loved my stay in Koh lanta mainly due to staying at this villa and been looked after by our host.

Such gorgeous views and accommodation. It is definitely like having a private villa but with someone to call on should you need it. I would definitely come back here. The hill up to the villa is steep but it's only a five minute walk, so if you are in good health, it is no problem. We did not hire a car or scooters but there are plenty around, we didn't need them. Taxis around to get to the Old Town and the next restaurant literally at the entrance to the hotel: Pad Thai Rock n Roll, amazing food! We will be back.

We spent 5 nights here in April 2024 and within an hour of arriving my wife and I both agreed that we wished we'd made it a longer stay. We stayed in the Red villa and it was honestly the best place we stayed in Thailand, and we also stayed at a four-star "proper" resort in Khao Lak. We couldn't believe the size of the place, and the space to properly settle in. Lots of places to store things, and many options for different places to lounge around. We were travelling with two young boys and it was great to put them in an isolated bedroom so that my wife and I still had use of the lounge and kitchen and terrace after we put them to bed each night. The villas have been put together very thoughtfully, with everything you could think of taken care of. The staff are very friendly but you are mostly left to get on with it on your own. There is a daily cleaning service and linens are changed every few days. Pool towels provided. Great restaurants and beach bars nearby: Pad Thai Rock n Roll, Chill Grill House, Same Same but Different and of course the inescapable Why Not Bar with its daily fire shows. Kantiang Bay itself is stunning and we were amazed how few people were on the beautiful beach. Only cons: - Only the bedrooms have AC, the living areas are not AC but have fans, and you can open the windows - The hill is quite a challenge but you get used to it. Not one for nervous drivers!

Loved our stay here. The villa is lovely and roomy and has a lovely outside space which we sat on every night and watched the sunset. Glad the bedrooms have air conditioning!! Takes about 10 mins to walk to Ba Kan Tiang bay which has a few shops and a lovely place to eat on the beach. We ate at Pad Thai rock and roll a couple of times which is only a 5 min walk down the hill from the villa and the food was lovely. We also had pizza delivered from Chill grill house which was also lovely. Whilst here we had a boat day arranged by the resort which was brilliant. They picked you up and dropped you back which was also great. We loved watching the monkeys jumping around in the trees especially the tiny baby ones. Highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again if we return to Koh Lanta.

The Villas are beautifully set up with attention to detail. Very comfortable and spacious, very clean, nothing is missing. I work in the luxury hotel business myself and was pleasantly surprised of all the details in the room up to the personalized welcome card. The hosts are very friendly and helpful with anything. From organizing food, to transfers or tours. There is no restaurant, but they feature an In Villa Dining Menu with many different food options from nearby restaurants, which they all coordinate. Be aware if you travel with small Children, the two bedrooms or not directly connected, you have to exit to the terrace first before being able to go back in. Unless you split as parents with one kid each for each bedroom, you can ask them to set them up an extra bed. Great views, close to dining options and convenience stores. Great stay! Our villa was amazing, one of the nicest places we've ever stayed at. It's large, with comfortable beds and a wonderful terrace. Thoy is a lovely, very helpful host, who organized our trips and transfers. We didn't mind the walk uphill to the villa and the view is definitely worth it. I hope to return one day

Baan KanTiang See villas and Koh Lanta are really worth a visit! The pictures do not capture how amazing and beautiful this hotel really is! The villas are a really good size for 4 people, with huge bedrooms and common areas as well as a big and nice balcony that offers spectacular views from morning until night! Both bathrooms and showers are huge, and one bedroom has an halfway outdoor shower that offers spectacular views! Everything within the villas is well maintained and clean. And a big perk was that we had excellent air conditioning in the bedrooms and fans in the common areas so the temperature inside was always pleasant. There is also really good wifi in the whole house and it even reaches all the way too the pool, which was a great bonus! We lived in the “Green Villa” and truly had no complaints about the living spaces! As well as really nice living spaces, the outdoor spaces are really well maintained and so beautiful! There is an infinity pool that we spent many many days by. The whole outdoor area was really green and there were a lot of blooming flowers and lights in the evening that really makes the whole atmosphere really nice, as well as super picturesque!! Furthermore, all of the staff are so friendly and welcoming, and they truly go the extra mile to be helpful! Every single employee we met, greeted us with a smile. Especially the receptionist Thoy was such a great help for me and my friends! Two of us had never been to Koh Lanta, so we had quite a lot of questions and she was there to help us with all of them. Amongst many other things she helped us book different trips, reserve taxis, gave us tips on where to go, what to see and where to eat and showed us how to ride a scooter (essential in Koh Lanta) and helped us order and delivered food for the times we wanted to eat on the balcony. The location of the hotel is also really ideal! It sits on top of a hill so the view is very very nice, and it also means that it is very quiet and calm in the villas and around them. You cannot hear any traffic or loud people, so it truly was a very relaxing and comforting stay. Although it was located in a nice and quiet place, the main town with all the shops, restaurants, the beach annd everything you would need are just a short 10 minute walk away! (Or 2 minute scooter drive) The only slightly negative thing I could say is that the hill too and from the villas is quite steep, so walking back up to the villas could be a workout. However renting and driving a scooter is very easy, cheap and practical. And if you can’t drive, walking with small breaks and water is very doable! We walked up and down multiple times a day, and honestly felt like it was a nice workout after all the desserts and good food! The hotel is also very helpful in booking taxis to take you too and from where you want to go!! :) All in all I really can’t recommend this hotel enough! We had a really pleasant and nice experience living there and truly had no complaints!
